New Year Eve, Eve dinner. Had a Groupon for over a year, and it was extended because of the virus. Today, it was too expire. So I treated myself to dinner. I got everything I got last time except for 2 other dishes. The shrimp udon noodles, and the special roll Fire Roll. The tempura appetizer again I changed out the broccoli and onion for zucchini and sweet potato. I also did the chef choice sushmi which had the salmon, tuna, and this time red snapper. Spicy Crab hand Roll, was a amazing. I think tasted better than last time. The Fire Roll special came out on fire which was really cool. It was shrimp tempura inside with raw fish on top in a spicy mayo, and eel sauce. My other half got the Shrimp Udon noodles, he is not a big sushi fan. I tried it, the shrimp was very plump, and moist, not rubbery or chewy. The flavor of the dish was so good. He also got the California Roll, he liked it, to me its boring. If you are a sushi lover that is not the Roll you buy. Just my opinion. Lastly, I wanted sake as a treat for the year. I had not eaten sushi in over 10 months. They let me try the coconut and the black label sake. For a little more money you can get the bottle instead of a large. I asked if you can take the bottle home. YES YOU CAN TAKE IT HOME. that was an easy decision. I thought they closed at 10pm.. they closed at 9pm. I don't know the waiter name, because Annie had taken over which I didn't know. They didn't tell you the kitchen was closing if you wanted to order anything else. How I found out, was everyone was starting to leave, and I said we are done if they wanted to start cleaning up. She said they were already cleaning up and the kitchen was closed. Ok. Happy New Year! Goodbye 2020,...
Read moreWe heard about this place from our kids. Their grandparents took them once, and they loved it. Our party consisted of me, my husband, our 17 year old daughter and 9 year old son.
The food was good, but it certainly wasn't the best. (Ichiban on Bash is my favorite sushi place in the metropolitan area.)
The Ginger dressing for the salad was my favorite part of the meal. The miso soup was also tasty. The rice surrounding the sushi was a little rubbery, but the fish tasted fresh.
My major disappointment was in the mongolian beef. It smelled like wet dog, which made it hard to stomach. I soaked it in soy sauce which made it decent enough to eat.
My husband got the gyudon. Everyone liked it a lot better than the Mongolian beef. Our only complaint was the portion of beef was quite small.
We finished up with green tea ice cream and vanilla tempura ice cream. The tempura was ok. My 9 year old was not a fan. He primarily picked the ice cream out. The green tea ice cream was tasty.
If we were to return, we'd likely stick with the sushi, salad...
Read moreThe food is great, and most of the staff is too. The waitress IVY. Is rude, inattentive, and pushy. Thankfully other waitresses there help her customers. When she sat me she pointed me to the sushi bar. I said no thank you, as I'd be working through lunch. She rolled het eyes, turned around and three a menu on the table behind the host stand. I ordered tea, she brought a cup out, and I asked for sugars for it. She never returned, when another lady brought my good I asked her, she was happy and cheerful, she got it right away. The next time I saw IVY wad when she brought my check, I asked for Mochi and a refill on my tea. She brought my tea, looked at the check and left it. I sat and waited for 15 minutes. I got up and asked her, she said they don't do Mochi at lunch. So I have her my credit card so I could leave. I've eaten here many times, usually for dinner, but some lunches. I know they serve desserts on lunch. It wasn't worth the fight or dealing with her longer. I tipped the other waitress and sushi...
