What a confusing, disappointing experience. Whenever I visit my in laws I try to find local coffee shops to try out because I love coffee! (From Seattle)
I found illumine in a Google search and decided to try it out based on the high reviews. I ordered an 8oz quad cappuccino with oat milk. It was not an inexpensive drink.
I received a 12 oz quad latte. When I asked the barista if this was an 8 oz cappuccino, she said “we don’t have 8 oz cups.” This is so strange because when I placed the order, the person taking my order said “that’s basically a quad cortado.” And I agreed - I just wanted some foam and I didn’t see cortado on their menu.
The barista was not friendly and made no attempt to correct the drink. The cup was entirely full of liquid so obviously it was not an 8 oz cappuccino.
I won’t be back. Also, maybe you should train your employees to tell customers if what they are ordering is not available...
Read moreToo often people only leave reviews when they have something to complain about, so I wanted to make sure Illumine Coffee got the MUCH deserved love instead. Today was my 2nd time going into Illumine this year. After my first visit, I said the words “this may have been the best mocha I have ever had.” I decided to go another time because maybe I just got lucky and someone did it really well the first time. Nope, still one of the best mochas I’ve ever had the privilege of enjoying. Most coffee shops make their drinks so stinking sweet and I usually have to ask for my lattes to be half sweet, not here. It’s literal perfection exactly the way they make it. I also threw on their Sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and goodness I was practically licking the wrapper wishing there was still more. So Illumine gets 5 stars in my book and I will definitely be making more pit stops there anytime I’m...
Read moreThis place is great! I am so glad there is finally a great coffeeshop in Nora. Their coffee is great, they are kind, there is enough comfortable seating to chat with friends or bring your laptop and get some work done.
My only caveat is their baked goods aren't great. I am not a pastry chef but a good home baker and I don't expect a coffee shop to be a bakery but I often want a little bite of something and there snacks are absolutely edible but the two times I have gotten something (plain croissant and koign amann) I have been disappointed. Maybe my lesson is that I should stop ordering things that are supposed to be flakey and just get a cookie. I will go...
