When I walked in on Monday at 7 there was only 1 couple dining. But several others were ordering takeout or door dash. The atmosphere was simple, but clean. There was a semi open kitchen and a sushi bar. I ordered an appetizer, wine and a hibachi meal. The flow seemed a bit rushed. My salad came first... very typical with a nice dressing. There were 8 pieces of Crab Rangoon with a sweet/sour dipping sauce. I ate all of them, but they didn't blow me away... mostly tasted of sweet cream cheese. Before I could finish my appetizer, the hibachi steak with vegetables and fried rice came out with yum yum sauce. I ordered medium rare. I was only given a fork and a napkin, but I could tell without cutting the steak that it was overcooked. I was chewing on the meat for longer than it should have taken. I opted to take home half of the entree and received a small box. I was delighted that for everything I got it was only $35. However, if it costed more I definitely wouldn't go back to try something else on a different night of the week. The other couple were raving about the sushi and said they would be back. The server recommended the ramen to them. Perhaps I will go back to try that...
Read moreI really wanted to like the food at this restaurant. Ultimately, I was not a fan. The sushi could use some work, the sizes of the sashimi and the flavors of the fish and rolls were a bit off. I could not finish what I ordered for this reason and wanted to try the Ramen in hopes that the food would be redeemed.
Sadly,I was also put off by the smell of the bowl, which was maybe dude to the egg? Idk the flavor and texture was just off.
In the end, the server didn't want to remove the sushi item I barely ate from my check, fine. He did offer a discount, but I still ended up paying over 40 dollars for food that was really not that great and I didn't want to finish.
It was my first time so not sure if there are other items that would have made for a better food experience. Wait staff was very kind though, and would love to see this place grow in these other areas for that...
Read moreMaybe carry out would be a better option. We went on a Tuesday night. They were about half full with just one server for the whole floor. She was really running (literally, at times) in all directions trying to keep up. So it took quite a while to get drinks and put in our order. The food came out pretty quickly. The calamari was poor. All batter, no meat, over cooked. But the dipping sauces were good. The salad dressing completely separated - ginger on the top leaves of iceberg lettuce, water at the bottom of the bowl. The hibachi entrees (steak/chicken and steak/shrimp) were pretty average. Well cooked and generous portions, but the steak was pretty tough. Had we gotten egg rolls or gyoza instead of calamari and ordered it all for pick up, I think we would have given it a much...
