Overall I was disappointed in the food, but it's harder to explain than that.
The good: Most of the components of each thing were sort of fine. The burgers are large and cooked over a gas grill, so you get some char on the meat but they managed not to dry them out. The pulled pork on my burger was flavorful and it was my favorite thing. The fries were good for what they are, except I definitely expected fresh-cut for the price.
The cheese curds were passable.
Service was great, and I couldn't expect more. The tip options when you're checking out start at 20% and go up to 25% as suggested. For three people we paid $110 including the tip, which I manually added. This included one draught beer, one appetizer, and one small Mac & cheese to share because we wanted to try it, plus three burgers.
The bad: the pretzel bun on these $19 burger is an absolute failure. It's not even that I don't like pretzel buns, it's that this slightly cold bun was just set in top of everything. It was not toasted, warmed, nothing, and truly did not add anything to the burger. I removed the top part of the bun just to make it make sense. With the bun in place, you have to dislocate your jaw to get a good bite.
Just use a normal bun -- probably seeded for this application -- buttered and toasted, and you've got a five-star burger. Until then, three is the best I can do.
The mac and cheese is served in a very large portion, even the small ($9) is too much for one person. It's topped with a very slight sprinkle of bread crumbs, and they say parm, but I couldn't find it, and then set under the salamander to brown, then topped with green onion. I got mine plain, and I found it to be a good texture, but incredibly bland -- directly opposite of the cheese curds, which were very salty. Eating them together would have been a good idea.
Atmosphere: very much celebrates heavy metal, and that's fine. Certainly a sort of bar-scene restaurant focusing on beer and on-tap spirits which is cool. There's an outdoor seating area which I adore.
Overall: not my thing. It's close to being a good burger, but too much went wrong with that dry, cold, pretzel bun.
Edit: Updated to 4 Stars because of the Owner's repsonse to my review which addressed my issues. This means they care, and this means a LOT....
Read moreI ate here for the first time in a couple years last night and had the WORST experience.
Part of 2 and we were told it would be a 15 min wait because the kitchen was behind - that was fine and understandable. Came back when table was ready. It took 50 minutes to get our two burgers, no apps were ordered. Shile we were waiting, w finished our drinks and sat for about 10 minutes while we waited on the food. When it finally came, they sat my plate down and then tried to give my partner his plate. They gave him the wrong burger, so they took both plates (after I had touched the one I was given). Waitress came back confused because she thought he did order the other burger. She went to check, came back and then she thought we were splitting my meal. Then they brought back one of the previous plates (not the one I had before as it had the extra sauce I ordered the first time it was brought and not the second time they brought it out). Then we were told his correct burger was given to a different table? They said they were putting it on right now and apologized. It still took 23 minutes for his burger to come out after I got my food, so I was finished eating before his even arrived, and it also didn't arrive until 7 minutes before the restaurant closed (they did rush us, but it still felt odd). It doesnt take 23 minutes to cook a burger if the situation was addressed promoptly as we were told it would be. His burger finally came out, with things he asked to remove (lettuce and tomato and thankfully the items weren't asked to be left off due to allergies, so not a huge deal but yet another issue making us feel as if our business didnt matter). The burger was removed from the bill, but the lack of prompt address coupled with all the other issues made us feel as though the restaurant did not care about our business.
Both burgers were supposed to be medium and came out more like medium well, with NO pink. I had to ask for silverware and napkins after my food arrived because we were never given any. And on top of all this, only about half or maybe a little more of the total tables in and outside were full so im not sure what caused the food back up or...
Read moreLet me start by saying on a 80 degree day they have the doors wide open was hot and uncomfortable inside also flies and other insects flying around we've had people recommend us to try this place several times so we finally came here to give it a shot was a little shell shocked when we seen the prices to say that the prices are out of control is putting it lightly the cheapest hamburger on the menu it was $18 and it did not come with any chips or fries or anything even though the prices were extremely high we was going to stay and give it a shot anyway so we ordered some cheese and bacon fries to get started they came out the fries were not done some were raw in the middle and all the cheese in the middle of the plate was not even melted apparently they must not have put it in the microwave long enough I'm not sure how they cook it but either way it was done wrong so we waited hoping for the waiter to come back so we could have them throw it in a little longer and melt the cheese he never returned until after we had already given up and started eating the fries finally when we'd finished eating all that was edible on this plate the waiter shows up with an arrogant attitude so after the horrible service and lack of quality in food we decided to wash our hands with the whole experience and just leave then we go to pay for our $13 appetizer I wasn't even cooked all the way and this arrogant waiter has the nerve to ask if I want change from my 20 I'm sorry but you're lucky you got any tip at all I sure the hell is not going to tip you $7 you didn't give us no straws with our drinks you didn't come to check on us after our appetizer was delivered and when was forced to eat raw cheese that's too bad I had heard a lot of good things about this place and I'm a level 7 Google local guide I've had over 1.3 million views on my photos and I'm in the top 10% of restaurant reviewers on Google Maps I was hoping for a much better experience here do you think for charging the kind of prices you do you would be a little more concerned with your customer service and...
