I am wondering if we ate at the same restaurant everyone else did? Two of us dined on a busy Saturday night. The table took a while. We sat at the tiny bar, which is JUST inside the entrance/exit door. So, there are servers, management, new customers, and exiting customers all cramming and tripping over one another because it connects two sides to the dining areas. Chaos. We ordered drinks. Mine was fine. His choice, they told him to order something else because they didnt have the ingredients or know how to make the Amaretto Sour. So, he ordered something else. The bartender starts looking on her phone for a recipe. She attempted, and told him to taste it. It tasted really bad. He gave up and just drank it and paid. We get seated. No bread and oil. I saw no one with bread. No salads. We order a calamari appetizer. It was like chewing fishy smelling rubber bands. We sent it back. The server reports it to higher-ups. A manager and I assume an owner later came and apologize profusely to my bf saying they agreed it was really bad and he spoke to the chef. OK, great, but they were continuing to serve it to tables seated after us. Our dinners were OK. After leaving, we agreed neither of us felt the food was worth the $ we paid. It was not hot either. I have written a lot here but, I just think it's worth talking about for how much we spent on that meal. Everyone else here is very happy. Perhaps they usually eat at McDonalds? I am normally super easy to please. You can see my usual reviews are pretty positive. This manager/owner only seemed concerned with my man's approval and forgiveness. Neither of us were impressed. We didn't ask for anything but to take the $ off for the app we didn't eat. My man doesn't write reviews....but I do. If the food was great, I'd give the chef the...
Read moreI very rarely leave negative reviews for restaurants because I’m pretty easy to please. However, this was simply a horrible experience.
Service: Worst of all was the service. I will not blame our server. She was very nice and truly trying her best. She was running around the entire restaurant trying to wait on many tables. I don’t know if this a problem of understaffing or poor management, but she did not have enough time. It took 15 minutes just to place orders for drinks and appetizers. Then another 30 minutes to receive them. Then an additional 60 minutes to receive our entrees with no explanation.
Food: Very bland food and drinks overall. Our cocktails, the French Martini and Aperol Spritz, were quite disgusting. My shirt rib ravioli was extremely simple and flavorless. Tasted like canned Chef Boyardee ravioli. Overpriced. My partners branzino also lacked seasoning and it was baked rather than being braised as described in the menu. His side dish of pasta was over cooked as well.
Atmosphere: Sadly, I have the say the atmosphere was abhorrent. There were far too many tables squeezed into a small area. Throughout our dinner, both to us were bumped by passing waiting staff and customers as there was not enough room for them to pass between tables. It was also so incredibly loud that it became impossible to hold any kind of conversation.
We really had high hope for this new restaurant, but we were sorely disappointed. As hard as I may try, I cannot come up with a single redeemable quality. Don’t waste your...
