The restaurant worth your time
On a busy road in Broad-ripple close to the Glendale shopping center, sits a small Mexican restaurant that is a classic in its community. It’s called Luccianas. The parking lot is almost always full and the inside lined with happy people. Right as you walk in you are given a warm welcome with big smiles all around. With little to no wait time you are escorted to your table surrounded by vibrant walls as bright as fresh fruit in the summertime. Towards the back of the restaurant is a screened in patio that is great for a cool summer evening. Though it’s been a staple for many a couple years now, you would not be able to tell!
After your drinks quickly arrive they ask if you want any appetizers, me and my family’s answer to this question is yes! Their queso always hits the spot. It comes in an oval dish with perfectly salted chips on the side. If your chip basket runs out before your dip, you don’t even have a chance to ask for another one because it already arrived at your table. The attentiveness of the staff is on point!
As a picky eater I struggle to find food at restaurants that I like. Though I’m 14 my age never stops me from eating off of the kids menu. At Luciana's I already know what I like, and everything is the perfect portion size. The staff always let the “children under 12 only” rule slide, which I very much appreciate. For $6.95 you can get an entree and side. I always get the quisildila and fries, even though its a pretty American meal it’s always super good. Always served not too hot but not too cold the just right so the cheese perfectly floods your mouth with flavor, and is just the right amount of filling.
A meal I have never tried but my family often gets is their tacos. Three come lined on a plate full of filling meat, rice, and thinly sliced lettuce. They have never had any complaints and it always smells good.
The staff seems more like a community than a group of coworkers; they are like a well oiled machine. Making jokes and smiling at each other is the only way I have ever seen them interact with one another. They make every customer feel comfortable and welcome.

We walked in to an empty lobby and a please wait to be seated sign. So we waited-for eight minutes and never saw a host. We set ourselves. Waiter walked up and I asked for paper menus. He pointed to the QR code. I asked if they had regular menus and he said yes then directed me to the code again. I repeated my request and he walked away. The next thing we knew a young lady walked up without a word and literally threw two menus and two rolls of silver on the table. As she turned to walk away I gave her a cheery “Hi!” She said hi. Waiter took our order and I told him I wanted beef for my tacos and enchiladas. He felt the need to inform me that they always come with beef unless I want different. It didn’t say that on the menu that I had finally gotten, but it was so nice he educated me.🙄 Another waiter brought the food and I asked for all 3 sauces and salt & pepper. When he returned I asked for two more salsas please. He looked at me in total annoyance and without a word begrudgingly went to get them. It was at that point that my dining companion noticed all 3 bottles of sauce he brought us were next to empty. He must have hand chosen them? Nobody ever came to check on us at all and waters were never refilled. My dining companion said “This is unbelievable to be treated this badly!” The experience didn’t hold one iota of hospitality. But again, the food was fresh and fast at least. The real clincher was when I went to speak to the manager. That is something I never do. I’m not a Karen by nature. Lady in a light blue short sleeve shirt approached and I asked is she was a manager. She said she was and I told her what I just told you. She listened and kept saying ok. Which is all she said when I was done speaking. She simply said Okay. I couldn’t believe it and asked: You don’t even have an apology for me??!? She shrugged and walked away wordless. Outrageous. We don’t plan...

My teammates, sister and myself came here after work to celebrate. When we arrived, there was one couple sitting in the dining area. We sat in the bar and a waitress brought over salsa and chips. We asked to order drinks and she went to get the bartender/waiter to assist us. We asked for dip and to order drinks. He returned with our dip, we asked for extra plates and again asked to order our drinks. The waiter once again replied with he would be back and left to serve other customers. He finally returned, I again asked for extra plates and stated we were ready to order our drinks. He turned to my coworker (who just so happens to be white) in the middle of me asking and asks for his drink order. My coworker and I politely let him know that I was speaking and would be ordering my drink first. He hastily took the drink orders and walked away. I saw the hostess and asked for plates (for the fourth time) and she brought them. My coworker said thank you, neither the host or the waitress responded, she said it again a couple more times and they continued to ignore and not respond. I asked if there was a problem, if we’d done something to offend the waiter or if he was having a bad day. He said the other waiter was late and should’ve been here by now (not our problem). He also stated he was fine if we were. I let him know we’d be leaving due to his nasty, rude and dismissive attitude along with horrendous customer service. I asked for the bill to pay for the dip and let them know we wouldn’t be drinking the drinks. They had no problem serving the other patrons, just us. The hostess and the waiter/bartender are an absolute embarrassment to this establishment. I will never patronize this location again. Enough about this sickening service…
