We've come here since before the pandemic, and we were glad to see them adapt during the early days by opening a drive-through. I value how Alan, the owner, continues to improve the place. This past summer Watami added cute outdoor seating. Additionally, he genuinely cares about the quality of the food and making people feel at home. I suggest pacing yourself when ordering since there is a charge per piece for leaving more than 7 pieces of sushi on the table at the end of your meal. They now have a cotton candy machine. The machine prompts are in a different language but you can ask someone for help and you can choose the shape for the top of cotton candy. It looks beautiful and the flavor is pretty good. On a general note, the place is clean and well-kept. The staff is attentive, and the food comes out fast. If you come at peak hours, you might have to wait a bit for a table, but that’s expected for an all-you-can-eat sushi place. The one thing I noticed is that they don’t have a changing table in the women’s restroom. Watch out for potholes in the parking lot.

I ate here with friends and was disappointed. Watami is reviewed very well and I was excited to go but the food fell flat. The tuna and salmon cuts were particularly watery, though that was par for the course, and the texture came off as though they had been frozen for a long time. The tempura, shrimp and veggies, seemed off. In Watami’s defense I’m very particular about tempura batter and like it very light and crispy but their shrimp tempura tasted flat, though the veggies were fine. I was let down by the miso soup; it was almost devoid of seaweed and I could only describe the smell as “wet dog” and the flavor was very weak as though they skimped on the miso. The green tea was a real disappointment. As the first thing to come out of the kitchen I was brought a large cup with a tea bag floating in the top. While I’m ending the my more critical comments here, the tea was the first thing on the table and my first clue to the quality of the establishment. I’ve eaten sushi in Osaka, Tokyo, and in numerous Japanese restaurants around the US and green tea à la steeped bag is a low quality flag for me. I’m very atypical as, when I go for sushi, I’m interested in traditional cuts and preparation. “All you can eat” is not traditional but I expect to see the echos of that standard in the midst of any sushi establishment. Water in a cup with a tea bag floating in it is a poor reflection of green tea. On the plus side the mackerel’s saltiness made it very forgiving, the “sushi pizza” was novel, fun, and tasted good, and the veggie tempura was cooked fairly well and in generous cuts. The gyoza was fair and the Shogun chicken was excellent and worth revisiting.

For a quality, thrifty meal I would recommend One World Market and if you want and excellent meal visit Asaka...

We used to come here often, starting four years ago. We supported quite frequently. Things have slowly started going downhill and today was the worst of it. Our wings appetizer came out burnt. The sushi was still mediocre which is what we come for, because you can't beat the price. The rice was really warm. It made the sushi warm. I used to work in a sushi restaurant and grew up in a restaurant. They didn't prepare the rice enough in advance. This felt right out of the rice cooker. Maybe cooled five minutes. The waiter didn't take out his airpods and couldn't hear me when I kept calling for him. He said nothing to us and refused to engage us. Our last kitchen appetizer item came out after we were done with everything, including our sushi. I think what held it up were the staff orders as I kept seeing. Them bringing plates out and eating while preparing our food. Staff meals should be before they open. They used to have really good service and really amazing sushi chefs. Servers would acknowledge us. I asked if Alan the owner was there so we could say hi and they acted like they didn't know who I was talking about. When we arrived, someone brought out a bucket from the kitchen and when we had left, I'm assuming they dumped it into the dumpster and it leaked out all the way next to my driver's side. I had to crawl through my passenger side to get into my car without stepping in a grease puddle. I don't know what it was but came home and got really sick. Maybe it was the warm rice with raw fish or the thought of the nasty grease puddle. I literally lost my lunch. Sadly, we won't be returning. We will be driving the extra to go back to our usual. It's not AYCE but we'll worth it for the quality...

Went to watami sushi for my birthday and was a little worried about the quality of the restaurant considering the location and exterior looks slightly sketchy but the expression never judge a book by its cover really does fit this restaurant. We went in and were pleased with a very polite service and delicious food admittedly the server was a little bit soft-spoken but was very kind and kept our glasses full. My boyfriend informed our waiter that it was my birthday and with most restaurants nothing really comes of it but our waiter came out with a sushi cake with the words happy birthday written on the plate. The sushi was delicious I especially liked the American Dream and the sexy girl rolls as well as the miso soup and green tea ice cream. Overall very pleasant experience and will most definitely be returning our waiters name was franky and I just wanted to thank him for his excellent customer service. If anybody was curious it’s $21.99 per person and you get as much sushi you’d like (as well as appetizers, single rolls, and anything listed on the menu) but you do get a cut off of 6 times that you can reorder more food (which is pretty fair). Hope this...
