If you're in the mood for some top-notch Greek and Mediterranean chow, this is your go-to. Being a vegetarian, my options can be sorta limited, but their Falafel Sandwich/Wrap Combo is my jam. It comes with fries, a drink, and your pick of sauce.
You walk in, and bam! The smell of fresh falafels hits you. And when I finally got my mitts on that sandwich? Generous doesn't even begin to describe the serving size. Plus, the colors popping out of the wrap were a feast for the eyes. The falafels themselves? Crispy goodness on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside.
Oh, and don't even get me started on the fries. Most of the time, they're seasoned to perfection and make an awesome sidekick to the falafel wrap. There have been a few times when they skimped on the seasoning, but hey, nobody's perfect, right?
But hold up, because we're not done. You HAVE to try their hummus. It’s the real deal. And the pita? Soft as a cloud and so fresh it could’ve been baked by angels or something. Every bite you take is like a mini flavor explosion in your mouth.
So, all in all, Petra Cafe on Mass Ave is a winner in my book. Whether you're there for the rich flavors, diverse menu, or just the downright welcoming atmosphere, it's hard to leave disappointed. If you're on the hunt for a meal that's not just filling but also packs a flavor punch, you've got to check...

Food: I can only speak for the Spicy Gyro set and it is amazing! you get a huge portion plus fries. I don't know if i'm ravenous when I come here but the fries are great. I see the guy behind the counter throwing an bag of frozen fries in there but it's still amazing. I can't say much about the authenticity as I've never been to Greece so I have nothing to compare. But food is great!
Vibe: Hole in the wall kinda vibe. I've only been here during the late hours past midnight, so it can be hit or miss in terms of how busy they are. it's either no one's in there or its packed.
Customer Service: The guys here are great. They don't make much small talk. Pretty much take your order, makes it, and cashes you out. They are great at letting you know if the food is going to take longer than expected.
Cost: Very reasonable for the amount of food that you get. A whole entree, fries, and a drink. From what I remember, all for like $8-$9. Not too bad!
Eventually, I will get to try them during regular business hours and also will try something different. Overall great place to get a meal after a night out. If you aren't into Mediterranean food, they do have something basic like a chicken and rice plate to "dip your toe in". Stop...
Read moreAte here on 7/22/17 at 11:30 AM.Only one employee was staffed. He did not communicate well with us. Besides not explaining the menu or greeting us, he repeatedly got the order wrong.Behind the counter, several pots were over-boiling. The food prep area was dingy and messy. We ordered the falafel and fries combo(about 7.99). It took the cook 15 minutes to prepare( the food came from the freezer to the fryer)Meanwhile, two other patrons waited to be served side salads and pita with humus. There was no sense of urgency. When we were asked back to the counter to dress the falafels, he proceeded to use the same tongs to divvy out each of the toppings from their pans (so if you're not a fan of certain toppings too bad they are all cross contaminated)..the silverware and napkin station was not stocked so we had to ask the cook who took a painfully long time to get back with us.. and we only got one napkin at a time! Hospitality is dead here!We only went here because it was listed as a "must" by a local reviewer, but it seems like anymore you can't trust other people's opinions..so give this place a shot for yourself..and see if the cost, lack of customer service, and filthy cooking area suits...
