If you're in the mood for some top-notch Greek and Mediterranean chow, this is your go-to. Being a vegetarian, my options can be sorta limited, but their Falafel Sandwich/Wrap Combo is my jam. It comes with fries, a drink, and your pick of sauce.

You walk in, and bam! The smell of fresh falafels hits you. And when I finally got my mitts on that sandwich? Generous doesn't even begin to describe the serving size. Plus, the colors popping out of the wrap were a feast for the eyes. The falafels themselves? Crispy goodness on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the fries. Most of the time, they're seasoned to perfection and make an awesome sidekick to the falafel wrap. There have been a few times when they skimped on the seasoning, but hey, nobody's perfect, right?

But hold up, because we're not done. You HAVE to try their hummus. It’s the real deal. And the pita? Soft as a cloud and so fresh it could’ve been baked by angels or something. Every bite you take is like a mini flavor explosion in your mouth.

So, all in all, Petra Cafe on Mass Ave is a winner in my book. Whether you're there for the rich flavors, diverse menu, or just the downright welcoming atmosphere, it's hard to leave disappointed. If you're on the hunt for a meal that's not just filling but also packs a flavor punch, you've got to check...

Coming here after a late night has been pretty much the ritual lately.

Food: I can only speak for the Spicy Gyro set and it is amazing! you get a huge portion plus fries. I don't know if i'm ravenous when I come here but the fries are great. I see the guy behind the counter throwing an bag of frozen fries in there but it's still amazing. I can't say much about the authenticity as I've never been to Greece so I have nothing to compare. But food is great!

Vibe: Hole in the wall kinda vibe. I've only been here during the late hours past midnight, so it can be hit or miss in terms of how busy they are. it's either no one's in there or its packed.

Customer Service: The guys here are great. They don't make much small talk. Pretty much take your order, makes it, and cashes you out. They are great at letting you know if the food is going to take longer than expected.

Cost: Very reasonable for the amount of food that you get. A whole entree, fries, and a drink. From what I remember, all for like $8-$9. Not too bad!

Eventually, I will get to try them during regular business hours and also will try something different. Overall great place to get a meal after a night out. If you aren't into Mediterranean food, they do have something basic like a chicken and rice plate to "dip your toe in". Stop...

Ate here on 7/22/17 at 11:30 AM.Only one employee was staffed. He did not communicate well with us. Besides not explaining the menu or greeting us, he repeatedly got the order wrong.Behind the counter, several pots were over-boiling. The food prep area was dingy and messy. We ordered the falafel and fries combo(about 7.99). It took the cook 15 minutes to prepare( the food came from the freezer to the fryer)Meanwhile, two other patrons waited to be served side salads and pita with humus. There was no sense of urgency. When we were asked back to the counter to dress the falafels, he proceeded to use the same tongs to divvy out each of the toppings from their pans (so if you're not a fan of certain toppings too bad they are all cross contaminated)..the silverware and napkin station was not stocked so we had to ask the cook who took a painfully long time to get back with us.. and we only got one napkin at a time! Hospitality is dead here!We only went here because it was listed as a "must" by a local reviewer, but it seems like anymore you can't trust other people's opinions..so give this place a shot for yourself..and see if the cost, lack of customer service, and filthy cooking area suits...

I always come to this place because of their shawarma. Their foods are delicious and I really can’t complain about it. However, last week, I brought my friends from out of town to this place, since they’ve heard me talking about it all the time. They were disappointed to see that the stuffs members were very unprofessional. One of the server forgot a couple of items from their orders, and instead of getting them, he tried arguing with them and insisting on the fact that they did not order those orders even though the receipts showed otherwise. He was literally yelling at them. Then when he realized that he was in the wrong, he gave the emptiest apology Ever. I understand that sometimes, being under a lot of stress can make people forget. However, there’s no reason why one should raise his/her voice at customers who just want to get the orders they paid for. The manager should definitely take time to talk to the staffs on how to deal with complaints from customers. Raising one’s voice is definitely not an option.

Ohmagosshhh!!! How did I not discover Petra earlier living in Indy for 3.5 years? We ordered a veggie wrap and gyro platter (all for only $29 By the way) through the Yelp order process and our food was ready as promised in 20 minutes. What was originally planned as a quick bite while driving back home turned into a savoring and enjoying every single bite. And yes, I have tried a variety of Middle Eastern cuisine (also lived in Middle East for more than 15 years). The lamb was succulent, the garlic sauce was lick worthy and the rice was a flavor packed addition to the platter. The quantity for $29 was so huge that I ended up having lunch today and I still could not get over how tasty and delicious the food was! Petra is a gem, takeout or dine in this is now on my list for anyone who visits Indy and a great filling lunch/dinner option. 5/5

I just had their Chicken Kebab Platter. Every grain of rice was screaming flavours! It's so good!!! The chicken pieces were cooked properly but still soft and juicy, rice was fluffy and flavourful, and they also provided some fresh salad and two different types of sauces on the side. The portion size was also pretty good. No complaints about the food at all. Only a tiny observation that I had. Although I didn't eat there, I found the place a bit small. But then, I saw people sitting there enjoying their meals as well. So, I guess it depends on the type of ambience you prefer. Nonetheless, the taste is gonna blow up your mind (mine sure did) anyway, so I guess I'll be returning pretty soon.
