Chu's Garden — Restaurant in Inglewood

This used to be one of the better local Chinese restaurants but things have definitely changed since the new owner/manager took over a while back. The last couple of times, the broccoli was very poor quality and no effort was made to cut away all the rotten parts. However, this last time it was clear that the broccoli (the bulk of my dish) should have been composted a week ago not merely covered with a brown sauce to hide all the brown spots and served to a customer as a takeout order. When I called to very politely and calmly let him know that I was extremely dissatisfied and why, not only was there no apology nor offer of a refund or substitution, but he had the nerve to just hang up on me. That's how little he cares about his customers. I had already noticed that he lacked any social graces and, the last time I was there, personally witnessed (due to his own poor management and communication skills) how irate he made a long-term customer who was also justifiably unhappy with some aspect of his large order and what a spectacle it caused. This is honestly our favorite take-out Chinese spot in Inglewood. It's been a staple here since the 80s. They give you huge portions for reasonable prices you won't find anywhere else.

The food is always on point for your typical take-out. One time they forgot the appetizer we ordered and they gave us a credit for it the next time we came in. When we did, they gave us additional portions without us asking. It showed the owner cared.

Yes, the ambiance hasn't changed since...the 80s, and the food isn't going to go above and beyond some of the places you'd find in Gardena or Chinatown but it's the typical spot you'd find everywhere across the East Coast when you need something quick, easy, and delicious. It's not trying to be trendy. The staff has always been helpful and kind.

July 26 2016 I went there since they closed little Asia... our family's favorite Chinese restaurant .... they are closed right now due to a fire next to them So I Searched for a Chinese restaurant near me saw four stars saw the reviews and felt comfortable to order first and last time... I walked n there the place was empty.. and the food I ordered to go was discussing old salty n expensive I will never go back again the place is dirty the service is bad the food is old And discounting honestly please don't go and eat there !!!! I'm sorry my phone is not working please forgive the mistakes n bad spelling but the truth the food is not good at all it is old and salty bad service I will never go back !!! If you value your health please...
