I hate to give this a bad review as I was really looking forward to eating here. I cannot however imagine how it is considered the best tacos in the keys. We were a party of two, here is what we had and what we thought of it. Baja Style Tacos (Snapper): 3/10 pretty bland for something that had chipotle sauce, the "jalapeños" on it was a single very very thin slice. The food wasn't bad but it didn't taste like much of anything either. The breading wasn't very good either. Cayo hueso Tacos (Snapper): 4/10 It was ok, food was definitely fresh but it was bland. Fish was a little dry. For the rest of the toppings being bland, I wouldve liked more toppings. Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers: 3/10 they were surprisingly tasteless for something thats supposed to be full of flavor. The jalapeños were real tiny and the bacon was not that good. The cheese somehow was almost chalky tasting. Aqua Fresca: 8/10 extremely refreshing. Used real fresh watermelon. Definitely a highlight of the meal Tropical Smoothie: 7/10 Refreshing, and felt fresh. Overall this was a huge disappointment. The area looks pretty but there were flies covering our table, there were literally 10 flies that wouldn't leave us alone and they were big. There was a cute chicken that walks around. The food was super overpriced, for 2 orders of tacos, 2 drinks, and an appetizer it was over $70 which I couldn't believe. Portions are tiny and not filling in the slightest. From someone who lives in an area rich with Mexican food and street tacos, this place is a far cry from authentic. Fresh doesnt equal authentic. I would heavily recommend driving right past this place...

Unfortunately I had a really bad experience with the food here. I ordered a burrito and some tortilla chips, here's what I got:

Tortilla Chips: tasted like plastic or soap, I still can't figure out what was the exact flavor but it invaded everything.

Spicy sauce: It didn't taste like the thing (Cholula). Maybe it was refilled with something else, maybe was badly stored and got spoiled or maybe was the effect of the tortilla chips.

Guacamole: no salt, no acidity and the tomato pieces were too mushy, almost like puree. Avocado was getting dark as well.

Burrito (pork): wasn't evenly distributed inside: I got big chunks of each ingredient, some of which were refrigerator-cold. There was a huge tortilla fold (cold also) on one side, making those bites taste like tortilla.

Maybe I wasn't lucky on this one... I should have returned it all but I...

I so agree with last reivew. In fact, we decided to stop by at Bad boy burrito after reading this review. We were driving from key west to Miami and wanted to take a lunch break. I feel so lucky to decide to stop here. What a pretty place it is....everything about this place is pretty - Location (amidst all green, calm and quiet), shop, restaurant, you may laugh but restroom too is v pretty :) ...and of course the food ! IT WAS THE BEST BURRITO I HAVE EVER TESTED....and I go to chipotle almost every other week. My 5 year old ate whole of ceaser salad by herself..never happens. what was supposed to be a simple lunch break during the drive, turned out to be memory on the last day of our trip. Thanks Badboy burrito guys, I am sure everyone would have...

This was my second time here. First time was 2/2019. I recall the food tasting better the first time but overall it is still very good and I highly recommend it. Fresh guacamole with chunks of avocado, the Pico de Gallo is very fresh (needs more punch from jalapeños). We asked to have the Carne Asada tacos as a burrito instead and it was very good. We also had the Carne Asada tacos, Kobe beef burrito, and cheese quesadilla for the grand kids. You won’t be amazed or wowed by flavors as there isn’t much spice to the food but it is fresh and you won’t be disappointed. Be sure to ask for the hot and very hot salsas to add spice. The outdoor seating adds to the laid back atmosphere.

What a refreshing tropical oasis. Not only offering extensive outside seating in the shade and full sun if you want that bake while I eat sensation! The local top sushi chef is here, he caters to an super luxe holiday (5star hotels all around) crowd as well as local residents who own businesses or are employed nearby or are simply passing by! I fall into two of the above! Own a local business and am often working nearby! The BadBoy Burrito brand is iconic, to Islamorada! The BadBoy Sushi is new and has all the allure of the brand name it’s attached to! I have the Poke Salmon w No Rice - Salad/Veggies option. The menu is extensive!

Bad Boy Burrito feels like the kind of small business you hope to stumble across on vacation — tucked away, casual, and absolutely worth it. It has the vibe of a place that may have started as a food truck (maybe it did?), but the flavor is anything but simple. The food is fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and made with care. And don’t sleep on the margaritas… seriously good. A perfect spot to grab a bite, sip something strong, and soak up the Keys vibe. Support local, eat well, and enjoy the surprise. #IslamoradaEats #TacoTuesdayApproved #HiddenGems #SupportLocal #IYKYK
