Library Beach Park — Attraction in Islamorada

I’m surprised this place was not busier than it was on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. There was only one family there when we arrived. The keys aren’t known for their beaches, so this one was a “public beach” google search.

It’s a park with a playground, bathrooms and an outdoor rinse off shower, and a grill or two.

There is not a beach in the traditional sense. The park butts up to a little mangrove surrounded tidal creek. The water is clear and clean with an easy access and room to play without getting into the current. I did not see a lot of boat traffic either. There is not a sand beach, but there is a good space of nice green grass to lay your towel on less than ten feet...

Quiet, very small beach that was perfect for our family. Some of the family stayed here for the afternoon with the children while some of the adults went to kayak nearby. The kids loved finding little shells, digging in the sand, and watching the little fish swim at their feet. The park came in handy too, when the toddlers wanted a break...

Very nice,clean playground, our kiddos had so much fun in here! It has a small area to swim, but beware of Crocs. It has clean bathrooms and picnic areas. Free of charge, it is behind the public library, so parking is limited. We love the shady area by the swing set. If you do picnics, it is so cool to watch...
