I’m surprised this place was not busier than it was on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. There was only one family there when we arrived. The keys aren’t known for their beaches, so this one was a “public beach” google search.
It’s a park with a playground, bathrooms and an outdoor rinse off shower, and a grill or two.
There is not a beach in the traditional sense. The park butts up to a little mangrove surrounded tidal creek. The water is clear and clean with an easy access and room to play without getting into the current. I did not see a lot of boat traffic either. There is not a sand beach, but there is a good space of nice green grass to lay your towel on less than ten feet...

Free of charge, it is behind the public library, so parking is limited. We love the shady area by the swing set. If you do picnics, it is so cool to watch...
