If I could give less stars I would. I have lived in Grove city for many years. And this by far is the worst experience I have received at this Applebees. My fiance hates going here but since it is close to own place and affordable I can usually persuade him. NOT ANYMORE!! Recently on the 14th of May we decided to go here, and it was the worst thing I have ever encountered. First it wasn't busy at all, the host didn't even greet us for 5-10 min. She asked where we preferred to sit so I responded with "Booth". She looked around and said there is none available. There were at least 8 or so but I just told her "Okay anything will work." She finally seats us and it takes the waitress with only 2 tables not including ours 35-40 min to greet us and start our order. Once we gave her the order I received a call and more guest were coming. I went to speak with the host and asked if we could get a bigger table cause 2 more people were coming. She looked upset and gave out a big sigh and stated "Well now I guess you can have a booth. But you are gonna need to speak with your waitress." We finally moved and waited close to a whole hour for our food. The manager finally comes out with our actual food and I tell her we have been waiting on an appetizer, so she walks off without saying anything and another waitress comes over I explain to her that the appetizers came after our food, and I'm missing things from my platter and my fiance is missing stuff from his platter. She tells me "Okay, I will get that and send the manager over here." We then begin to examine the rest of our food and the manager comes over and JUST stands by our table and doesn't say a word. I start off letting the manager know that she should be fully aware of our situation since I just spoke with her and then I told her about the missing things. She acted like she was high on some drug and didn't care. Because she just looked in a daze and then said "Yep." and rolled her eyes...so I just laugh in disbelief and then continue looking at my food as she still stands there. Finally she asks me about my steak, so I respond to her question and she walks away. This place is a HORRIBLE MESS!! I highly recommend not going here unless they change their management and staff. I've worked and now teach a customer service training class and this facility needs to undergo some...
Read moreWas one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Slowest service ever, food was mediocre at best. Paid $10 for nachos that had grease pouring off of them and the meat tasted as if it was rancid. Paid $10 for chicken tenders that where extremely fatty and cold fries. The seasoning were good but definitely didn't make up for where they were lacking everywhere else. Our waitress started off OK, but you could tell she not into her job. At 1st I felt bad for her because the entire place had a terrible vibe so I assumed that it had to wearing down on her. After about 2-3 trips to our table I figured out it was just her personality and she was probably hired because her like wise attitude compared to the rest of the staff. Many times we would be mid sentence and she would just walk away. I don't think she smiled even 1X. Our tip was $33 and we gave her 2 $20s to pay our bill and a $5 for her tip. She disappeared for over 10 minutes and when she came back she asked if we were OK and I said yes but we are waiting on our change and reciept. Before I could even get the entire sentence of my she had turned away and was gone again. At this point I was extremely upset. It was our anniversary and we went out to have a good time and this was miserable. At this point I got up and went to the car and asked my fiance to handle the situation because I was so upset. 15 minutes later he comes out even more upset and proceeds to tell me that the girl disappeared and never came back, and when the manager came up to him she more or less caused an even bigger scene, never once offered to go get our change or reciept from the waitress , was extremely rude to him, and in mid sentence of him asking for our change back she ran to the register and got on the phone with who knows. At this point he walked out. I will never ever eat here again.terrible food, service and a...
Read moreHonestly, this will be our last visit to an Applebee's. We came in for the sizzler 2 for $25 advertising on tv. It all looked great. I got the 6oz top sirloin and hubby for the 6oz garlic smothered sirloin. Now I know.. 2 for 25... can't expect too much. First issue.. no mashed potatoes. Out? Ok so we got fries instead. We each got a side salad also which were fine. My Caeser had very little dressing on it but it tasted good. We waited about 30 mins or so for the food. There were only two wait staff outside of the bartender who had all of the center bar area. Our waiter, who was super friendly, did the best he could with big parties and multiple tables. So he is a credit to the store. I don't know his name but he was a younger African American man. Our steaks were awful. Mine was about 1/2 thick and beyond well done. Not burnt mind you, but dry as a bone. I had requested medium. My husband's looked great.Thick and juicy and in the realm of the right temp. My steak was edible but I didn't finish it. My husband ate about 2 oz of his 6 oz steak. It was very tough and grisly. It took about 30 mins to get our bill. The poor guy was literally running to the kitchen over and over. Meanwhile the hostess, who looked bored to tears, sat people & wandered around and wiped off tables here and there but that was about it. It would seem she could take payments for customers, but maybe not. No manager in sight. And I didn't want to bug the waiter more as he was already double timing it. Lastly there were tons of empty tables but people waiting on seats in the lobby when we left. I presume due to staffing. But I would say run. We were very...
