Probably will not be returning. We had a large group and none of us liked our food. I had the goyu and the steak was overcooked extremely. Not only that but the entire bowl of ramen tasted like a foot… I mean I really don’t know how else to put it. It was bland and had a very distinct stale flavor to it at the same time. It was just nasty… I tried adding salt and pepper for flavor (which we had to ask for bc it was not on the table, any of the tables), and it did not help at all. I could not eat it. I ordered a sushi roll (Kami roll) and it was okay but that shrimp in the middle had the same foot flavor as the ramen. I just won’t be back. Which is a real disappointment bc I had been excited to try this place. Also, no one ever came to check on the table. I had to wait forever for someone to come even remotely close to the table so I could ask for a menu to order my sushi roll. No one ever got refills, and we had to ask for straws… not like they forgot to give us straws, they just don’t give straws and the hostess/waitress was confused on why we asked. Like handed us 4 for the party of 8 and was like “is that enough” like no… we all want straws… it just wasn’t a good experience. It was such a let down that I’m now afraid to try the pho place across town that I’ve also been...
Read moreKami Ramen has been a top option when traveling to Memphis and I’m very happy to now have one here in Jackson. I was there opening day as well as four days after. Here’s my review:
Food: Food is great as the other restaurants. First day the meat was a bit cold but it was opening day so my food took about 30 mins to come out I have a feeling since everything was still new waitress forgot to put in/pick up the order. (Totally understandable) Second time was on point.
Service: Everyone is new so expect longer times to get seated and to be served. Both times I was there from walking inside the restaurant till leaving took about one hour. All the staff is very friendly so nothing negative about that.
Atmosphere: Decor and layout very like the other restaurants, my only observation is that the whole room feels very crowded so waiting area is very limited, I would say parties of 8 or more would be hard to accommodate so keep that in mind before you make plans.
I will probably wait a couple months to go back to see if service is a bit faster like the other restaurants but other than that I definitely...
Read moreStopped in tonight and had the tonkatsu black ramen and pork (don’t remember what they’re called) buns. Both were incredible. Some of the most delicious and definitely the freshest food I’ve ever had in Jackson and I’ve lived here for all 33 years of my life! I also ordered a super Mai Tai and it was delicious and strong enough to make it worth the price and then some. My total bill with those things and a few extras was only $40 and I took enough home for at least one more meal. The buns alone would make an excellent lunch and they were only $5.50 for two of them! The service was also excellent. The staff was very attentive and helpful and just had a wonderful attitude. Very happy that I decided to try this place and I highly recommend it. This new business is an awesome addition to Jackson and I hope we are able to keep them here for...
