I've always ordered hot matcha tea. The night of 12/5/24 @ N. Highland was no different. I went inside to pick up the order and noticed it was iced. I got the attention of the barista which was a taller guy dark hair icy grayish eyes and showed it to him and said, " Hi, excuse me. I ordered a hot tea, this one has ice." His IMMEDIATE stupid response was, "Well YOU made the order and I don't have control over that. You'll have to go to the app." I asked, " Is there any way you can remake this?" A very simple rectification was asked of him. Was he really expecting me to accept it and drink it anyway?? I started to recheck my order on my phone in case I'd ordered incorrectly. But before I could, a dark haired lady with a ponytail intervened and took the reins. The ticket indicated that I'd indeed order hot tea and it had, in fact, been incorrectly made. She was very cool, quick and all about resolving the matter, apologized for the mix-up and remade the tea. Took all of 4 minutes, if that. A $6 tea. The guy that works there must think he will get by with his good looks and "dreamy" eyes🙄, but he needs more training in customer service and how to lose the attitude. And if he can't help a paying customer with an issue, he needs to learn how to find a coworker who can help a paying customer with an issue. I don't leave many reviews of businesses but the attitude was pure garbage. Being dismissive and acting like remaking a tea is beyond his control is ridiculous and maybe he should be working in the back washing dishes and taking out the trash. Something that requires zero contact with customers. Maybe he'd be better at that. That's why I gave the...
Read moreThe Starbucks across from Old Hickory Mall in Jackson is a regular place for coffee with my friend. I've been going to this store since it was built. The first generation of staff was adequate, the second generation of staff was the best they have ever had, like family. I knew their pets, their children, their dreams and their goals. Regarding service, they were awesome. The turnover since then had been a flatline until this current team. They aren't as fast as Gen ll but they are reasonably quick to get the orders out. I do appreciate that this team has personality, smiles are genuine, they are pleasant, sometimes funny and most importantly, they connect with the customer. That is they see a person, they make eye contact. I'm enjoying getting to know them a little. There have been challenges with my routine Carmel Macchiato, but nothing was their fault, like being out of something. However, I am impressed that they make alternate suggestions. That's rare. Typically, a barista will tell me they are out of something and just silently stare at me as if I need to come up with a solution. Not good. My friend and I enjoy the few hours that we often spend there. Great baristas create a little positive energy in the store. I hate that they have unisex restrooms and the...
Read moreIt’s true that not all Starbucks are created equal. The North Highland location is my favorite in Jackson, TN and I’m rating it 5 stars. Drive thru is convenient and quick most of the time. The guy (don’t know his name) working the drive thru most mornings and early afternoons is my favorite. He remembers me when I visit and is always smiling and friendly.
Had one issue recently that was discouraging. Placed a mobile order, parked and went in to get order which said 2-5 minutes. There were no mobile orders at or near the pick up counter so I sat and waited. 10 minutes later I go to the register and ask about my mobile order. They found it at the drive thru counter and told me they usually hold them there until people pull up and ask. Not so as I place mobile orders often and pick up my drink at the counter. Thinking that the older lady that told me that was new?? That incident was an outlier so I’m not...
