11-5-2018 We've made the trip 3 times to visit and today it's finally open and very crowded.
Let me start by saying the speed of service and friendliness of the staff couldn't be better. And unique atmosphere too.
We ordered Crab Cake taco Korean bbq taco Creamed Mexican corn Tea
Chips & side of guacamole to share
Blackened Mahi Mahi taco Mango Habanero taco House salad Diet Coke
The bill exceeded $30 for 2 The gentleman in my party left hungry and felt disappointed. He is not a big guy either.
But the concept of feeding the hungry is absolutely wonderful, but you have to feed the paying guests in order to assure that they return.
I would say we absolutely rate the taste, quality, freshness and uniqueness at a perfect 10. The guacamole is amazing as are the Tacos.
The tacos are a bit messy, but the flavor of each ingredient blended perfectly on each type. But they're are alot of condiments and not alot of meat. And the sides are suitable for a lite appetite and not hearty to suit a man's appetite by any stretch.
I would love to return often, but probably not due to the high cost. Adding another taco would satisfy the appetite but 35.00 for lunch for two is out of reach for most of the working class to spend very often.
But try it and be your own judge. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with the food. Their manager Ryan stopped by our table. He's definitely the man...
Read moreI don't normally post any reviews, but I felt I could not let this go. First let me say I really like the food at Tacos 4 Life, but yesterday when I went by for lunch there was no one at the front counter to greet me and as I stood there waiting two people from the back made eye contact with me and just turned their head away so they didn't have to look my way. I thought maybe it wasn't their job, so I continued to wait and still no one came to the counter and neither of the people that saw me let anyone know I was there. As I waited, I watched both of the people that had made eye contact with me take what looked like a tortilla chip and dip it into the food station and stuff it into their mouth all while fixing someone's food. One of them actually looked around to see if anyone was watching and I was. That person immediately turned away and did not look back. I walked out right after that. I had waited long enough with no one coming to take my order and then watching the people in back preparing the food eating directly out of the food stations, this was more than I was willing to take. I left feeling so disappointed and aggravated that this place was run so poorly. Every time I've been there the service was slow, but I have been willing to come back. After the no service and watching the employees in the back feeding themselves, I'm not sure I will ever...
Read moreWhile the concept and premise are profound. There seems to have been something lost in the final presentation, at least on my visit. (December 21, 2019 @ about 6:00 pm)
I found the food over priced, ($19+ for two soft tacos [steak and cheese only], chips and salsa, and a single drink), and very underwhelming in flavor.
The steak was cold, dried and charred, (Likened to burned jerky), the cheese was refrigerator cold. The presentation, in the little carrier would have better been suited to an elementary school lunch tray.
The chips were cold and had some kind of chili powder sprinkled on them, and the salsa was heavy on the cilantro. (I know some people like it this way.)
I will say the soft drink choice was not one I typically would have made. I chose a soda. The tea urn had a crystallized (sugar crystals) mass around the tap, thus showing a possible lack of cleaning the urn.
The food wasn’t eaten. It was boxed up and taken home to our pet. He enjoyed it far more than I.
Please do NOT respond with the canned response as seen with the other poor reviews. If you can’t seem to do more than cut and paste a response, I doubt that you can convince me that this was a “one-off” situation.
Edit: And STILL you let me down. Thank you for the canned response. I, along with my family, will not bother with your establishment...
