Wow to say my experience here sucked is an understatement. I hate to leave a negative review, but I couldn’t let this one go. Although the location is great and the restaurant itself is pretty, the service sucked and I can’t tell you how my food was, because I never even got my meal. My husband says his was “meh”. We got there at 10:30, online it said the restaurant closed at midnight. It was a Saturday night, the restaurant had quite a few people there… They were nowhere near closing. The host told us that it would be “a couple minutes” for a table but we were still there waiting after 15 min. Never did he tell us during our interaction with him when we walked in that the kitchen closes at 11pm, but the bar is open until midnight-we actually heard him tell that to the people who walked in AFTER us, while we were waiting. After we get upstairs to the tables, there’s another host who seats you, and he told us that the kitchen closes in 15 min, and we let him know that we understand, however we have been downstairs waiting for 15 min for a table. He says “oh ok, I didn’t know”. (There were a few free tables) When our waiter walked up to the table, first thing he says is “the kitchen closes really soon, like 15 min” and immediately asks what we want to eat. We had to ask him for a couple seconds to actually look at the menu and decide, as we had never been there. We totally understood that they were closing soon and we just needed a moment to see what we want to order, we definitely weren’t going to take forever to choose something. He was so extremely rude and actually combative with us at the table. His comments were underhanded and sort of sarcastic so I guess he was just mad he had another table before closing? Not sure but the experience with him never got better. He took our orders and the next time we saw him he brought my husband’s food to the table and says “ok thanks enjoy” and walks away. At this point, we are simply thinking he left to go get my meal, we thought it was sort of odd but no biggie. Fast forward more than 10 more minutes, and he comes back (finally) and asks if we’re doing ok. We asked if it would be much longer for my meal to be done and he literally said “what meal?” I reminded him of my menu selection and he said he’d go check on it. He was gone at least another 10 minutes, and 5 of those minutes we could see him speaking with another employee, we figured there was a problem and he needed advice on how to handle it before he came back to tell us what was going on. He finally comes back and tells us “the kitchen never made your food because they lost your order, and the kitchen is closed now.” And then goes on to tell us “yeah it sucks, it happens here sometimes like the kitchen doesn’t get the order somehow.” Ok so obviously this waiter didn’t have the balls to be honest and tell me HE forgot my order and blamed the kitchen at least 3 times. No franchise restaurant is going to allow their POS ordering system to malfunction to the point of losing patron’s orders altogether without getting it fixed immediately, that’s a huge mistake! Also, even IF the kitchen lost my meal order somehow, when he brought 1 meal to our table of 2 people, wouldn’t that ring a bell in your head that the number of plates in your hands do not match the number of patrons at your table that ordered a plate of food and think there may be a problem? There were were no neurons firing in this kid’s brain. It made us even more frustrated that he was very nonchalant and had a strong ‘oh well’ vibe. My husband and I were in absolute shock. After being at the restaurant for now almost 45 min I now realized I will not be eating any dinner there that night. Now, I must say that they did end up comp’ing our entire bill (2 drinks and my husband’s plate), however we did not receive a visit from a manager nor an apology… and of course, I left a restaurant as a paying customer, hungrier than when I got there. Needless to say we won’t be...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were staying at the hotel for his birthday weekend. It’s 10:30pm on a Saturday night. We came downstairs to meet his sisters and one of their boyfriends. We were told by the restaurant staff that the kitchen closes at 11 pm.
At 10:37, Connor took our order. He then proceeded to help another server clear the table behind us. Whatever he said to her, they both turned and looked at us. Shortly after, he delivered meals to customers at the bar. At 11:10, he came back to our table and said “Please don’t shoot the messenger” then proceeds to tell us the kitchen is closed and everything has been shut down for the evening.
We asked for a manager and spoke with Ariel who further informed us that Connor “forgot” to place the order. We told her about all the tasks Connor was able to accomplish in the 30 mins that he “forgot” to place our order knowing the kitchen was closing soon. Ariel said she wasn’t there so she can’t speak to what Connor did. I told Ariel if she’s a manager, there’s plenty of cameras around. She can review the tapes for herself. She ended up comping us our bar tab since we had already ordered drinks, offering us shots (to which we declined) and told us she would touch base with the front desk in regards to some sort of compensation for myself and bf since we were hotel guests.
We left immediately after the exchange to find food elsewhere.
Next day, I spoke to Melissa at the front desk. She said there were no notes of what happened, apologized and gave us $25 F&B credit. We used it for coffee and muffins since we didn’t want anything to do with the restaurant.
A few key points here: if you knew the kitchen was closing or going to close early why did you not check with BOH before taking our orders? You waited 30 mins to tell us while completing other tasks. Blaming BOH for your poor time management skills or lack of work ethic is such a cowardly thing to do. Then to lie to your manager saying you forgot is Wild because you knew what you were doing when you talked shit about us to the server thinking we...
Read moreStopped in Sunday for a quick early dinner, hoping for some fun beachside drinks and easy bar food. Bar and restaurant were not busy at all, plenty of open tables, so we thought this would be a perfect spot. Immediately “greeted” by a hostess who looked at me as if I was bothering her, spoke in single syllables while looking at the ground, and told me to go upstairs to check with that hostess since we’d asked to sit inside. Upstairs host was not much friendlier, sat us at a sopping wet table which we asked politely to have wiped off and were met with a scoff. Then, we sat and waited a good 10-15 minutes before seeing our waiter. We asked for waters and a moment to decide what margaritas we wanted… he gave us 20 and when he finally returned, asked us if that was “enough time”. We ordered food and drinks at the same time, got our beverages soon after. Once we received our food from the kitchen, we didn’t see our waiter for another 20 - makes it tough to ask for a side of ranch or correct any issues. By the time he returned, I asked for a ranch, and it took another 15 to receive it. We were literally in here forever with LONG periods between seeing any staff to help us. My brother had ordered another drink when I asked for ranch, and it hadn’t come out by the time we asked for the check. It was then delivered along with the check after we reminded our waiter… I was brought a singular refill and it was the wrong drink, but it was sat down so quickly and he rushed away (not sure where to, as there were long periods of us sitting when we did not see him at any other table in our area). All in all, some of the least attentive and worst service we’ve ever experienced. Especially from a restaurant with plenty of open tables. Very disappointing. He topped it off by asking if the food was any good when he picked up our card with the check. LOL - little late for that I think. Won’t be returning, will likely steer clear of all chains like this in the future, and highly recommend...
