SpringHill Suites by Marriott Jacksonville Beach Oceanfront — Hotel in Jacksonville Beach

I have a few favorites I met here. I hope to spell your name right. Jeniz absolutely best people skills hands down!! My little girl took to her like she knew her. Because she was fantabulously friendly. And being on the spectrum can be tough for some. They welcomed us with a warm smile and welcoming crew. We were very pleased. The room was perfect for us, including the location. The breakfast was incredible. A lot of healthy eating choices and finger foods for kids. My little loved the scrabble eggs and bacon. Not counting another time, it was scrabble eggs and blueberry or cinnamon muffins & a banana. I loved the oatmeal cooked to perfection. And even though I like a bit of milk with mine. There were several topping options in your oatmeal. Like chocolate chips,granola, cinnmon,coconut, raisins, and a whole lot more. Like I said, a lot of options, including juices and milks, I've been in several hotels, but the breakfast at this one was the cream of the crop. Apparently, the cranberry and water were my little favorite. The orange juice tasted very fresh. And for those of you who prefer a quick bite, they offer yogurt and bagels English muffins. If you got a couple min, try the waffles they are fluffy and delicious. The housekeeping was super friendly and made everything very inviting. We had one who we welcomed in. But she didn't want to invade our privacy. So I just said we could take some towels. I can't leave them out they are the reason the place looks so spectacular!!! The second to the last day of our stay. We hadn't utilized the pool or the beach front access yet. Perfect for kids to have outlet heated pool beach front waves crashing next to the pier. My little wanted to see the stars at night while utilizing the laundry room. Which was great as well. They have the regular old school washing machine and front loader. With a double stack dryer, $3.00 is the cost for 30 min each. Which is cheaper than where I go. Back to the story of watching stars on the patio. It was kind of cool that we wore our jackets, but still so Jeniz mentioned the fire pit. It took a few mins. due to being so windy out. But it's definitely worth the wait. It's so beautiful and perfect. That young lady bent over backward and beyond to meet our needs. Their were a few more, including the hotel manager. He held the elevator for us as I was getting our luggage. They have valet parking as well as a large lot in front free Monday-Thursday free on Friday until 8 pm. We were welcomed there every morning and every evening. Always acknowledged you with words of encouragement or simple good moring, or I hope you have a good rest of your day, stay blessed, or have a blessed day. Or have good nights rest. Always making sure we had our needs met or questions answered. It's definitely a dream team of associates who really work well together and have great work ethics yet a work family, too. That's what I had observed. Everyone showed nothing but love and respect for each. That's what makes a great team that makes beautiful dream work!! When I come back to Jax's Beach, I want to stay there again, and so does my little. Hopefully, next time, I can walk on that beach again and the pier. I thank the dear Lord for the amazing people we crossed paths with. Because they were my calm in the storm that I was dealing with. I was visiting for my daughter's destination wedding. I was a hot mess express, and everyone was absolutely wonderful to us. BTW the attached restaurant, The SandBar, has the most excellent servers, and food is delicious and appetizing. Definitely outside of the box for my little, and she did amazing trying new foods and dishes. Last but not least, I can't leave out the maintenance man who was to be their I'm guessing was also our engineer, whom we did request because we were unsure about something. But later fixed itself. I recently stayed at Springhill Suites By Marriott in Jacksonville Beach Florida with my daughter for a weekend getaway. As a regular Marriott guest, I had high expectations for my stay, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Although the hotel's location right on the beach was a plus, the negatives far outweighed the positives, leaving me feeling angry, disappointed, and frustrated.

Pros:

Location: The hotel is situated right on the beach, providing guests with easy access to the sand and water.

Cons:

Awkward shower setup: The shower is inconveniently designed with the on/off-hot/cold knob located on the opposite side of the showerhead, making it challenging to wash off sand in those, hard to reach areas. Partial beach view: Despite advertising a partial beach view, 85% of the view was obstructed by the rooftop of nearby buildings, with only a small portion of the beach visible from the patio. Lack of outdoor shower: For a beachside hotel, it was surprising to find that there was no outdoor shower to rinse off sand before entering the hotel. Parking: The hotel does not have enough parking spaces for guests, and parking is offered at an additional cost of $27 per day. When the lot is full, which was easy to happen, guests are advised to find parking across or down the street or in a parking garage, which can be time-consuming, inconvenient feeding meters and distance not to mention less safe and secure. Also, since it is a travel destination, finding a place to park was extremely difficult resulting in me sometimes driving in circles for a long period of time! Elevator wait times: The hotel has only two elevators, resulting in long wait times, especially during peak hours. Staff discourages the use of stairs due to malfunctioning key locks on the doors, leading to additional frustration. Food. So they have a restaurant on-site, or so I was told, I never saw it. I asked for a menu to be sent to my room which they did. However, after we found what we wanted I called down for room service and was SHOCKED to be told they don't offer room service, we would have to go down to eat. So we ended up ordering from Uber Eats. That was ridiculous. Thin walls and mold smell: The walls in the hotel rooms are paper-thin, and a strong, unpleasant mold-like smell was noticeable throughout the room.

In the end, my overall experience at Springhill Suites By Marriott in Jacksonville Beach Florida was extremely unsatisfactory. Despite its prime location, the hotel's cons significantly impacted my stay, leaving me feeling frustrated and angry. The parking situation was particularly disappointing, and the lack of an outdoor shower was a surprising omission for a beachside hotel. Although the hotel may have only opened a month ago, the issues were significant and negatively impacted my stay. I would not recommend Springhill Suites By Marriott in Jacksonville Beach Florida to other travelers and suggest considering other options, such as the nearby Element hotel, which offers a better value and more comfortable stay and only a 3 minute walk from...

We were able to find a room the day of, surprisingly! It was a great room, two queens, pull out couch, great shower and bathroom overall. We had a balcony, however, it faced the side of another building and was right across from the gym and last room right next to maintenance/storage so we had some more noise than usual but it’s a hotel and we were very last minute getting room, no surprise. Breakfast was great. We went right after we watched the sunrise. It was already busy at 7am but there were plenty of seats and lots of food. My kids have the Belgium mini waffles fresh from the waffle maker, there were mini omlettes already made with toppings available and the typical fare, breads, muffins, bagels, cereals, oatmeal etc. beach access is right out past the pool or down through the parking garage. Valet was 25$ which was about the same if we would have parked in public parking across from hotel. It’s in a very busy bar district so expect it to be loud and busy till about 2am but the restaurants are great (do try the German restaurant!! ) and everything walking distance. We needed a CVS the next morning and found one about 6 blocks away, was a nice stroll with sidewalks and proper pedestrian crossing areas along lots of shops for souvenirs, bathing suits, coffee spots, and such. Hotel staff was friendly, rooms were very clean, you can fill your water bottles for the day with filtered water in the hotel gym. Pool area was ok. The bathroom you have to use is hotel lobby bathroom and it was dirty. The wall behind the trash an hasn’t been cleaned in forever, if ever. And the door you come in to use bathroom, locks behind you so ensure you are prepared to walk right through the hotel lobby in whatever you are wearing to get back to the pool. Not sure what’s up with that. Pool looked gross (like dirty tiles) along top of tiles but the water was pretty clear. It’s a smaller pool so once there’s about 10 people in there it’s too many and the sun is beaming on you it’s not really relaxing or relieving so it’s best to hit the waves. Wear solid shoes if you aren’t used to walking in the sand. It’s a bit of a walk to the wet cooler sand and in 95° out it was honestly painful. Seriously painful. I felt for my kids in half tears. The beach right in front of hotel is really busy as there are a few sand volleyball nets set up and there were a ton of tents staged all around them with games going on pretty often. There is also a lifeguard on duty straight out from hotel… think they were on 30 minute rotations. Overall beach was pretty clean. Theres a nice long fishing pier right along the...
