UPDATE (06/07/2024): Only a day or two after posting a review describing my most recent experience, I got a reply from the General Manager. They offered a sincere apology, replaced the order with a delicious & well-made small pepperoni pizza, and made it so easy to obtain that I literally just had to go in and get it. With customer service being so questionable nowadays, often times downright bad, I was extremely pleased with how this was handled. As a result, I’ll certainly continue to patronize this Mellow Mushroom location. I can sincerely say that I feel appreciated, heard, and understood as a customer; for me, that means everything!
Personally, I think Mellow has the best pizza and I look forward to pizza night living at the Beach (as opposed to the Mandarin area where I used to reside and there is no MM location). I’ll try not to say much of anything except that the to-go girl was pleasant and helpful, but the following picture should speak for itself. Depicted is 1/2 of my small pepperoni pizza (I did not alter it or change it in any way for the photo). If management does not reach out to me regarding this atrocity, especially considering what I paid for a small pepperoni pizza, I know that my loyalty for Mellow Mushroom will cease to exist as of this evening. As much as things cost nowadays, and I’m speaking to the KM & GM as someone who spent over a decade in the restaurant business during college: Would you be OK to have ads go out with this photo on it? I don’t know how your business is structured, but would your corporate office support you and say that this is a totally satisfactory and well-made pizza? I was told it would be an hour wait when I placed the order and I accepted. No problem! However, you cannot give someone absolutely garbage looking food, make them wait a full hour to come pick it up, and “manage” the place while maintaining some sort of palpable tension in the air that made me want to leave as soon as I possibly could. This can be rectified. I’m very agreeable and forgiving, but I am not a fan of getting taken advantage of. When I was a KM, I would’ve been ashamed if something like this came out of my kitchen. To be perfectly honest, it gives me no pleasure to give my favorite pizza restaurant such a...
Read moreThe pizza was good, however , they had to redo it because it was wrong the first time (but also, the first pizza was also done 35 minutes after the pickup time I selected). The ordering online system is not good. My boyfriend and I are vegan, so we selected vegan cheese on half of our pizza. We assumed that the other half of the pizza would just be "no cheese". We thought if we selected the "no cheese" option on the website , that the vegan cheese would not be put on. But, by default , if you ask for vegan cheese on half of your pizza, regular cheese is put on the other half at this location. Granted, we could have called to avoid this and we shouldn't have assumed , but also I thought if there was any confusion, I would have been emailed or called. The hostess (I wish I got her name), was very kind. She kept making sure i was taken care of and that the rest of the staff knew that i was still waiting for a pizza. The correct pizza came to us 50 minutes after our original order time. So, this whole ordeal was very frustrating. I was getting frustrated too that I kept being told " itll be out in 7 minutes", and then when I walked in after 10 minutes to buffer, I was told "2 more minutes", when it was really 15 minutes. The sweet hostess said "we can make you another one, really, we're not busy"..... but then why was it so late and packed in your building?? But my pizza was good, I was just frustrated that it was so late, and then wrong, the first time. I was not comfortable with the lack of social distancing and lack of mask-wearing; it's operating like everything is normal. People aren't spread out at all. The staff (except for 1 of the chefs I noticed) was wearing...
Read moreMy family came to town and I took them to eat here because the pizza is really good. First and last time at the one on 3rd St. We had to wait to be seated, once seated they pretty much forgot about us and kept walking by and completely ignoring us. Finally we had to ask them to wait on us. There were 3 girls that just kept gathering together to gossip. Two separate customers came in after us, ordered food after us and got their food before us. Finally got our food but there was no silverware and the 3 girls were huddled up together putting the silverware into napkins to which they only had 4 sets to give me because that’s all that was clean. 3 girls doing that one job. They were also out of pizza spatulas because they were all dirty. Once we were done eating, I had to hunt them down to get the bill even. Totally ridiculous. I called to speak with the Manager the next day. I was told they were in a Managers meeting and to get my number and he would call back. That will be 2wks ago this Tuesday and still haven’t heard a word back. I went to their website to give the feedback because I figure they can’t fix what they don’t know. Still no response back. Since no response then this was my next action. Figured I would save everyone else some grief. Go to another Mellow Mushroom and not the one on 3rd St in...
