Response to the owner: Recommending a particular type of drink does not help since that was not suggested from the beginning when I did order it. Additionally, in my experience with other shops, that coffee experience you have suggested should have been the default without the flavorings. I have ordered plenty of 20 oz lattes from other shops and I would get the ristretto shots but they had the full-bodied flavor, which indicates that they really have excellent espresso machines that pull enough or that the beans were of better quality. None of those drinks tasted or looked like a âmilkshake,â as you suggested. Also your response sounds more equivalent to âif you wanted soft serve ice cream, you should have ordered it soft serve,â when the business itself is an ice cream store that has soft serve.
Lastly, my issue was with the barista that was taking the order NOT making the drink. She was not welcoming or friendly, did not even greet, and then decides to go out of her way to let me know that I should ask for flavorings in the future when I was already speaking with the other barista who kindly informed me of that. I did not need to be humiliated in the store, especially since I was the only brown person there, and I felt super unwelcome here by her, as if ordering food was like I approached her house uninvited or somethingâŚ
So rather than getting defensive as per your response, learn from my free advice and hire more staff if they are that burned out that they canât provide customer service. Or make your coffee taste better. Others reviewed something similar here about the coffee needing syrups to taste mediocre at best so I know I am not alone. I dropped my stars further. Wonât be...

Our journey for the hunt of the lessor-spotted-koeksister takes us from Orlando to Jacksonville Beach were we met a South African couple, Ross, and Jacqui that left South Africa and started a cosy Coffee Shop called the Round Bird. The Round Bird Coffee Shop is situated in the heart of Jacksonville Florida area near Hannah Park. It is a favorite hangout for coffee lovers and a taste of South African treats. The decor is a stunning mix of South African and American modernity. Diners can relax in a beautifully decorated lounge with comfortable armchairs and a familiar display of Guineafowl around the shop. The only thing missing was that typical guinea fowl sound while enjoying a sundowner with a selection of South African wine. Ross and Jacqui, the owners, add that perfect touch of South African friendliness to the mix. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering pies, donuts and my favorite was the Cream Danish. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious, definitely worth the drive. For anyone driving past Jacksonville Beach, make sure to stop for a delicious treat and a...
Read moreDriving to Orlando from Savannah I needed a pit stop and had some time to kill. Decided to enjoy the beautiful day in Jacksonville. Read the reviews about this place and their meat pies, and I needed to check out for myself. And I have to say, it did not disappoint. The place is very cute, it gives me industrial vibes with the tin walls in the coffee area, with the rustic tables with metal pipe legs. I ordered a cappuccino and decided to go with the chicken and mushroom meat pie. It takes about 15 minutes to bake the pie. When you get your pie the smell alone makes your heart skip a beat. Itâs so fragrant and steamy hot. Cutting into the pie you have a flaky and buttery crust. Itâs so perfectly baked that none of the creaminess and juice from the filling runs into the crust. The filling is savory and full of flavor. Big chunks of chicken and mushroom with this delicious cream. I stayed for about an hour in there and then got a coffee to go to hang out at the beach. Very flavorful coffee as well. It is a must go if youâre in the...
