The Vine Contemplative Community — Attraction in Atlantic Beach

I’m so glad I found this beautiful expression of contemplative Christian faith and practice. The services are so peaceful and meditative. I find their emphasis on the life and teachings of Jesus, including sharing ideas and questions from the congregation, to be supremely refreshing and powerful. I’ve also found it a very welcoming and inclusive space(age, race, beliefs, gender, orientation, etc - WITHOUT the usual mandate and agenda to change you!) The messages are thoughtful and poetic. I love this church. My son and I moved from Miami and were searching for a church home. I had attend Calvary chapels in California and a vineyards in Miami. I searched and found a vineyards close to downtown Jax shortly after moving and planned to check it out one sun. God had a different plan, as always better than mine. I went to Atlantic Theaters in Atlantic Beach, last night.

Every Thursday, they show a movie for free. After the film, they have a meet up in the lobby for a discussion about the film too. I've been searching for a place like this for a long time.

The concessions are excellent prices too. $3 for a small popcorn and $1 for a water. You can't beat that.
