After reading other reviews it seems to be a common occurrence to treat possible customers with nasty and rude service! It actually sounds like the same employee (CONNIE) that was rude to me was the one that was rude to others who have left reviews, unless BJ's has a multiple slim African American woman that are incredibly rude to their customers (which I truly hope is not the case). My husband and I recently moved making it slightly inconvenient to continue going to Sams, so when I was on groupon recently and saw that BJs was not only offering a year membership for $35 but you also get a $25 gift card with it we simply couldn't pass it up. I called before driving to the store to make sure that I could redeem my groupon purchase from my phone and also get my gift card, the lady who answered was very friendly and assured me that, that would be no issue. Unfortunately when I arrived at the membership desk I was greeted with the complete opposite of friendly service. Connie started our interaction off with a very rude, rolling of the eyes greeting and then proceeded to insult me with loudly talking to me like I was so completely unintelligent for attempting to redeem my groupon via my phone. After a few minutes of her humiliating me I asked to speak to a manager only to learn that Connie was the manager! I could not believe that BJ's would ever employee someone like that much less allow someone with such little people skills to be a manager! So I picked up my belongs and vowed to NEVER return to BJ's. It's sad that such a nice place is allowing customers to be ran off daily by having the absolute world's worst customer service. I have already contact groupon, I will be getting a refund for this horrible purchase and will continue to drive an extra 20 minutes to visit Sam's and be treated...
Read moreI have been teaching in the Duval County public school system for thirty years and have dealt with rude and nasty kids and parents during my career, but tonight I met the queen of rude at BJ's at the Atlantic blvd store. The slim lady of color that works behind the customer service counter made my top 10 worst list this evening. I was invited to have a free membership by email today and after driving to the store and being greeted by a nice gentleman at the door telling me we would be glad to help you, just step on over to the "customer service desk" HA HA HA . what a laughable excuse for CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have never been treated so rudely and with anything but service in my life. Poor BJ's spends millions sending out glossy mailers all the time offering invitations to come have a free membership. And here I am believing I was going to get a chance to compare BJ's to SAMS....nope the nasty lady was so ugly to me, I left with no free trial membership and feelings of pure humiliation for trying to redeem the offer that was emailed to me. I spend thousands every year at SAMS CLUB and will continue to. At least when I go to Sams club I consistently hear "no problem ma'am how may we HELP YOU..... thank you for coming to SAMS CLUB...... I made an appointment with Mike at the store on Wednesday for today, Friday, at 10 AM for an exterior steel door to go from my kitchen to my garage, just like the one on the back of my house. A steel exterior door! I was told they could do this. I never received a confirmation for the appointment. They were 30 minutes late, so I called to see where they were. I was connected to a person from a callback option. They used the wrong address, the wrong name of the sales contact, and the wrong date for the appointment. The person proceeded to tell me that they cannot do a door from my kitchen to my garage…, a steel exterior door. He also said they had the appointment scheduled for a week from today. These people wasted my time, inconvenienced me, and promised something they could never deliver. They had the appointment down for new windows, which I got in this house three years from someone else. I would not recommend doing home improvements with whoever is doing this service for BJ’s wholesale club in Jacksonville !!! The one star rating is the lowest I can go or there wouldn’t be any...
