Horrible first time experience. We stopped by on the way home as this was a really hyped place.
The place had a really good assortment/selection of bread and slush/cold drink. But it all goes downhill from there. We bought rice puto, puto flan, chocolate cake slices, and halohalo. Never again.
For the halohalo, they have a basin of water where they put the ice cream scoop after use. That basin is supposed to have running water so the water can flow over and cycle through and actually rinse the scoop. Like in buffet places. Problem was the faucet was off so the water was not getting cycled over and the water was visibly murky. It doesnt stop here though. The blonde asian chick that was prepping the halohalo and other drinks dipped her entire hand in the basin to grab the scoop. Her entire hand. With no gloves on. And then used the scoop to scoop some ice cream. Horrible. Just horrible. This just left me speechless out of disgust. I ended up just throwing the halohalo in the thrash. Keep in mind when you get the dessert you have to pay for everything first before they make what you ordered. The rice puto and the chocolate cake slices each had sticker showing 11/30 as packed date and sell by 12/7. We bought on 12/1. By 12/2 noon i already noticed spots on the puto that looked like mold. 2 of the 6 puto had the moldy spot. In the evening of 12/2 (time of writing this review) i noticed mold also on the chocolate cake. Needless to say i threw everything out even though they all show sell by dates of 1 week after the the prep date. I’m not sure if what I bought needed to be refrigerated immediately, i dont believe any of them says it on the label but either way it’s unacceptable that less than 24 hours of purchase they’re already start growing mold. I kept them on the dining table but was kept in cool but dry place. Besides, i belive the store themselves just have them on the shelf all day and not in a fridge. I keep my ac real love and had not have any issues leaving pastries and baked stuff on the counter for a day or two. Hopefully my experience was just one-off but if you’ve recently bought here make sure to check your...
Read moreI recently visited The Baker's Son and feel it's important to inform others about a concerning problem that I encountered during my visit. I discovered mold in the pianono bread and biko rice cake, which is deeply disappointing and raises significant concerns about the bakery's hygiene and quality control.
Upon purchasing these items, I noticed a strange smell and upon closer inspection, I found visible patches of mold on both the pianono bread and biko rice cake. Mold is not only unpleasant but can also pose serious health risks if consumed.
I reached out to The Baker's Son to address this issue, they offered an exchange for the product. It is crucial for any food establishment to prioritize cleanliness and ensure that their products are safe for consumption.
I urge potential customers to exercise caution when considering purchasing from The Baker's Son until they address and resolve this mold issue. The presence of mold in their products is a clear indication of inadequate quality control measures.
It's important for consumers to prioritize their health and wellbeing when choosing where to purchase food items. I hope this review serves as a warning and prompts The Baker's Son to take immediate actions to rectify this mold problem.
Please be mindful and make informed decisions when selecting a bakery, ensuring that the food you consume is of the highest quality and...
Read moreMasarap! My mom and I were vacationing from out of state and this was on our to-do list as we were commuting through Florida. I am so glad we stopped by! Can you believe we almost spent $200 at The Baker's Son?! No worries - everything here was so affordable, we were shocked at the prices! I love that the workers spoke Tagalog and I am happy with how patient they were in explaining some of the items they had that my mom and I were not as familiar with from plain sight. The Ube Oreo shake was great, the Halo-Halo was amazing, and all of the baked goods soothed my heart as it reminded me of my childhood. The item I would describe as Turon had jackfruit in it and oh my goodness, it melted in my mouth! We purchased so many other baked goods (siopao, baboy, puto, ensaymada) too many to name, but just know we loved everything! AND in true Pinoy fashion, we shared a little bit of each item with our titas back in our home state and they loved it as well! I regret not taking pictures of everything we purchased for this review. Also, regret not trying some of their freshly made calamansi juice, but I will be sure to do this the next time I stop by! Everything was fresh, with good service, a clean shop, plenty of parking, nearby other "things to do", etc....
