Since moving to this side of Jacksonville, we've been here twice. Our first experience being here was fantastic and the service was pretty good and so was the food. I was so surprised that I told my family we'd definitely visit again. Well, yesterday after my son graduated 5th grade, we decided to come there for lunch. That was the worst mistake EVER. When we arrived there was practically no one in the restaurant so we thought that we'd be taken care of. We were sadly mistaken, the hostess immediately told us that there were no waitresses/waiters around to take a part of 6. Our part consisted of 2 adults and 3 children ages 4-11 and a teen (17). He said it would only take 2 minutes to be seated as there were other employees about to come in. Next, he stated that all of the employees that were supposed to come in were all late and we'd have to wait longer. We weren't in a big rush so we waited. Finally after about 10 minutes of sitting there watching other smaller parties get sat (which was fine because it was parties of 2-4), we were finally called to a table. He sat us down with no silverware, no napkins and they had forgotten the booster seat we asked for in the beginning. We sat there for about 5 minutes before our waiter came over and asked for drinks, we then asked for silverware and he stated that it wasn't the waiters jobs to hand out silverware and that other employees were probably rolling some in the back. We waited and waited for silverware and didn't get them. We ordered our kids food first and our appetizer and at this point we still did not have silverware. In addition, he got my youngest sons order wrong and we still sat without silverware and straws. We asked again and again for silverware and we were told that they were still probably rolling them in the back. When we finally received our food, at this point we still only had 3 silverware napkins and my husband was without one and my other 2 kids. We asked again and were finally brought one more so my husband had to share his fork with my younger son. Then my husbands order was incorrect (he ordered corn with his meal and was given carrots). In addition, when we ordered drinks, I asked for a 6 oz glass of Cupcake which is Peach Moscato and the waiter came back and said that it's not supposed to be on the menu anymore because they stopped serving it. My husband repeated again, Peach Moscato and the waiter said I thought you wanted Presecco. We asked over and over again for refills and he promised he'd return and took so long to bring them. Also, I asked him what drink did he give to my 17 year old (She asked for a raspberry lemonade) and he stated: It's the raspberry lemonade and i said okay because it tastes spiked. It indeed tasted like there was alcohol in it so my daughter stopped drinking it. I regret celebrating my 5th graders graduation here spending $121. It was NOT worth it and I would really like my money back. Service...
Read moreI recently dined at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, and I must say that my overall experience was quite disheartening. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that there were some serious issues with the staff's professionalism and coordination. The emotional damage I endured during my visit left a lasting impression, and I feel compelled to share my experience.
I noticed that it took an unusually long time for someone to take our order. Nearly 30 minutes passed before a server finally attended to our table, leaving us feeling neglected and frustrated. It became apparent that the hostess and server were not on the same page, further exacerbating the confusion and inefficiency in the service.
While waiting, we witnessed a heated argument between the two individuals working at the bar there. It was an uncomfortable situation, not only for me but also for the entire section of patrons present. The fact that no one intervened or attempted to resolve the dispute was quite disappointing, as it significantly impacted the atmosphere and the enjoyment of the evening.
When my food, the chicken-fried steak, finally arrived, I was genuinely disappointed. The dish lacked flavor and tasted incredibly bland. Considering that Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is known for its scratch-made dishes, this was a letdown. The quality of the food did not match the expectations I had for the restaurant, and it further contributed to my overall dissatisfaction.
Aside from the specific issues I encountered, the lack of professionalism and poor coordination among the staff members created a negative and unsettling environment. As a customer, I expect a pleasant dining experience, which includes attentive service and well-prepared meals. Unfortunately, my visit to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen failed to meet these expectations.
I genuinely hope that Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen takes this feedback constructively and addresses the issues that plagued my visit. It is crucial for the management to ensure a cohesive and harmonious team, prioritize customer satisfaction, and consistently deliver on the quality of their dishes. Until improvements are made, I can not recommend Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen based on my unfortunate encounter.

Read moreTwo of my friends and I came to this restaurant to dine late on a Thursday night after 7:30 PM. There was a wait which in this area of town I expect. What I didn’t expect upon entering was to be greeted by a hostess that didn’t bother to even look at me when she spoke to me and spoke so softly, I could barely hear what she said, and had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times. She was extremely rude to every person that walked in the door. As more people began to enter after me the atmosphere became very unsettling in the front lobby. We were seated in the bar area at a booth in the back corner, which was really the only positive thing about this experience because we were away from the rowdiness and unruly customers. I watched a man at the bar, sit with a cigar in his mouth and was waiting for him to light it up. Our server was very unfriendly and very unknowledgeable about anything on the menu or the drink menu. She was not attentive at all, and we set for quite a while without drinks. The kitchen messed up my food, and she did correctly notice that before bringing it out and asked them to remake it. However, when they remade it, it appeared that, it had been sitting in the window for six hours, and wasn’t edible. I used to dine here because it was a great alternative to one of my favorite restaurants that is not located in Jacksonville, but the atmosphere of this place, and the overall service is absolutely appalling. I felt like I was closer to Moncrief than in the town center last night. I did not speak to a manager at the restaurant because I don’t want my food Compton I don’t want a gift card to come back and try your service again. I want people to know how horrible this restaurant is so that real change happens or you’re shut down and something else is built in your place that people can actually enjoy. I will never return to this establishment, so don’t bother to contact me. I have worked in the service industry before and I would have never worked for a place like this or treated my...
