Cielo Azul Mexican Kitchen and Seafood — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Cielo Azul Mexican Kitchen & Seafood where the server named Adam provided abysmal service. It was clear from the very beginning that our visit was going to be a nightmare.

After being seated, Adam took a staggering 45 minutes to even bring us glasses of water. Mind you, this wasn't a busy rush hour or a packed weekend; it was just an average evening. We had high hopes that things would improve once we placed our order, but little did we know what was coming our way.

To our utter disbelief, Adam blatantly refused to take our order, despite having the audacity to bring us water and make us wait for close to an hour. When we politely asked for his attention, he simply brushed us off with a dismissive wave of his hand. Not only was his behavior appalling, but it left us feeling completely ignored and disrespected as paying customers.

In my many years of dining out, I have never encountered such a negligent and unprofessional server. Our patience and understanding quickly ran thin as we realized that Adam had no intention of providing us with the service we deserved. It was clear that he had no regard for our time or satisfaction.

I strongly advise others to steer clear of this restaurant if you value good service and respect as a customer. Adam's dismal performance tainted the entire dining experience and left a sour taste in our mouths, metaphorically speaking. It is a shame to see how this establishment allows such individuals to represent...

Mediocre at best. Our server expected us to know the menu and when ordering she had a little attitude like she didn’t wanna be there. The food was terribly bland. I expected some zesty flavoring and got none. The rice & beans were just dumped on a plate and looked like slop. They had no taste at all. Even the little girl who was with us was making a disgusted look as she ate her rice. The taco salad had so much water/juices resting in the bottom of it that it got soggy. We were a party of 15 and seating was not available for that size of a gathering to all sit together comfortably. We literally had to put the tables in a U formation to make it work. Then we were crammed right by the front door and close to everyone coming or going. Plus, our food came out of the kitchen spread out over time. The last plates literally arrived 10 minutes after the 1st ones. You’d expect us all to be able to eat together. Lastly the drinks are super over priced for their quality. The small and large drinks are the same amount of liquid, just a different shape glass. We literally poured a small drink into a large drink glass and the amount of drink was IDENTICAL. Same amount of beverage/alcohol just a different price & in a different glass. Order small drinks to not be scammed! Over all I was highly disappointed with this restaurant. In comparison to all others I have been to, this one would be near the bottom of the list. I wouldn’t recommend this...

Let me start off by saying this place is new (only open for 2 weeks as of 6/10/23) and still working out the kinks so therefore I'm being a bit lenient on the service issues. The food is top tier!! 👌🏾It's a pretty massive menu with some standard Mexican food and then they have a lot of things I haven't seen at other Mexican restaurants so that alone is impressive!! The chips and salsa are not complimentary. I think the guacamole is supposed to be prepared tableside, but ours was brought to us already made while a table that came after us had theirs made tableside. They were asked if they wanted certain items in their guacamole, we werent given the option... personally I would have loved jalapeño in mine.The presentation of the food is beautiful and very very creative. We did have a bit of a wait before someone came to bring menus and get our drink order even though we were seated immediately. The staff seems a little unorganized but hopefully as they work out the kinks everyone will have a clear understanding. We had a minor issue but the manager corrected it and made things right. The staff is very friendly so that's a major plus. You get a pretty big portion of food so in my opinion the price is justified. We look forward to returning and trying other items!! Job well job...
