Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Jacksonville

This should be a minus 5 stars! While waiting for our food cockroaches bigger than my fingers were all over the parking lot, sidewalks and bushes. Then we noticed them running all up and down the building and the gutters. Then they would disappear for a few seconds and pop back out hundreds at a time (if not more so many you couldn't count)! So I got out of the truck to see where the hell the kept going and coming from. They were going and coming from holes and cracks in the building. But you could see light thru some of the holes from inside the building. I actually said out loud "Oh hell NO!" We got back in the truck to leave as a worker who seemed to be a manager was bringing our food out approached. I said sorry brother but I can't feed my family out of that business and explained what I saw. As soon as I said cockroaches he gave them this nod yes and said but yea yea but they aren't in the kitchen. I said I watched them go through the building they most surely are in that building. He said he understood and said have a good night. If they know it why not fix it? People can get severely sick from cockroaches. Now we are scared to eat at any of the food places near them and are freaking eating prepackaged food and heating it up at the hotel....

Wanted to try out their new menu item, Texas toast Patty Melt.

Looked so good in T.V commercial, still looked good at their menu board.

I ordered a double with fries and diet coke, wife ordered a single with fries and shake(?).

Order came out fairly quick, not long of a wait for these days.

Friendly young man delivered and polite, probably a Marine working for extra income.

When we opened the sandwiches, I thought something was wrong in us ordering a wrong items.

The sandwiches we got DID NOT have "Texas Toast" slices, believe me I used to work in a bakery as maintenance technician, servicing slicing machines and others, that made them and I KNOW what they look like.

They were made with regular slices of bread toasted. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

That being said, sandwiches were very tasty, compared to some other burgers we got recently.

I called over the young man and inquired about the slices of toast we got instead of Texas Toast.

According to the manager(?), that is Texas Toast they served???

They looked NOTHING like it. We were very disappointed by their misleading...

I just had the worst experience at this location. I never have had a problem here. I love sonic and this place is easy to get to during my regular commute. However, tonight, I had a $40 order made almost completely wrong. By the time I got home, I live outside of Jacksonville, it was too late to turn around and go back. I tried calling the store to let management know every sandwich I ordered was made incorrectly. The phone was either busy or kept ringing. I don’t know what crew members are at this location, but they either need retraining in how to correctly prepare food or they need to find a new job. I wasn’t even going to leave this review online, but I’m hoping someone in management sees it and takes note of how terribly the service was tonight. I’m thoroughly disappointed and will not be returning...
