1st, make sure you check your itemized receipt to make sure a gratuity or service charge isn't added. I was at a table of 4, with split checks, and my check came out to $100.57 but I wasn't given a paper receipt and was just shown the handheld. I gave 2 $100 bills and the server said she would take care of the $0.57, so I asked if a service charge or gratuity was added and she said, "no," so I asked her to break the $100 and I gave her $25. I really don't want to accuse her, but as I started doing the math, it seemed like maybe the check DID include an additional charge.

2...even if there was an additional charge included, THE PRICES ARE INSANE. With a charge, my check for 2 came out to about $85. With no charge, my check for 2 came out to $100.57 with only 4 items. --- #1. This was a $12 Modelo; when I saw the price on the menu, I was hoping for a pint, and really hoping for a 23 oz. or something large...I got a 12oz bottle...for $12! --- #2 A double well vodka, soda, splash of cran. It came out in a short/rocks glass and I couldn't taste any vodka. I tended bar for over a decade and a double can be a full double pour or it can be a single full pour and then a fraction of an ounce called a rocks pour...either way, a nasty well vodka should've been tasted in a rocks glass. --- #3. A virgin goblet with cotton candy and dry ice for my daughter. It was delicious, but it cost $29. --- #4. The only food we got, the rainbow sliders. Again, delicious, however, price was insane...$27 for 5 2-3 oz. patty sliders. This is an app and didn't include any sides. Including tax, we're talking $6 per 2-3 oz of meat.

The server was extremely nice and sweet, especially to the kids, but if she lied to get a double grat, that's always unacceptable.

The support staff; the server assistants and/or bussers were on top of things and removed dirty plates and glasses right away. They also asked if we needed new drinks when we finished ours and brought out a couple condiments we needed.

If you've never been, this place is an experience and people go there to celebrate. We were there between 3pm and 5pm, typically a slow time in a restaurant and there were a couple birthdays and a small bride-to-be party with family and a kid. It can get very loud when celebrating a drink or dessert...if that's what you want, this staff went above and beyond.

My last two complaints; 1, we ordered drinks and dishes that were supposed to come with ducks, but they were out of ducks and we had kids who were expecting ducks. 2, our 2 goblets had the company name and logo almost completely rubbed off. It happens, but they present these and ask if you want to take a video and then turn the logo towards the person video'ing...and this is what they turned towards me. I think they'd be better off with no logo on the goblets than presenting something like this. These drinks, with alcohol, are $39+ so they make their money back on the goblets...maybe they should sell inventory when the logo is this rubbed off and put new goblets into rotation.

This was the...

I honestly have nothing positive to say. The ā€œstuffedā€ cheesecake and strawberry waffles were literally two tiny eggo sized waffles, totally soggy, doused in strawberry sauce, surrounded by under-ripe strawberries, with somewhat decent chunks of cheesecake strewn about. Additionally I asked for added chicken tenders on the waffle, I was charged $9 for said tenders, they came on the side and were meager at best. That horrible dish was $30. Unbelievable.

They give you these tiny little glasses of water packed with ice. 5 sips and its gone, and it took 3 asks to get another. I also wanted a Corona until I was learned it cost $10. Corona was one of just two beer options.

The $30+ mixed drinks are just a normal average sized drink mixer worth of liquid which is then poured over a giant glass packed to the brim with crushed ice and gummies to create the illusion of ā€œmoreā€ but in reality it’s a normal drink that gets watered down faster.

The worst offense in my opinion is the fact that they charge the prices they do for garbage food and joke drinks, and then they can’t even pay the supporting staff properly so they have to automatically charge you 20% gratuity which is split between the bussers, expo, and the server, and then the server indirectly asks for any additional money which goes to them directly. Very awkward experience and the service was well below even a somewhat acceptable standard.

I got my dish first and a full 10 minutes passed before a single other dish came to the table. 2 of the burgers were 10+ minutes behind the last food as it trickled out AND they were BOTH wrong. By the way, they forgot about those burgers until somebody said something. We hadn’t seen our server in a while so we had to ask a nearby busser to inform her. My girlfriends club sandwich was good aside from the near raw, slimy bacon (which plagued every dish that included it).

To sum it up it was a horrible experience. Unsettling atmosphere, below average service, garbage food, outlandish prices, the music was WAY too loud, and the menu was so obscenely expansive it’s not a huge surprise that the quality was so poor.

P.S. I am writing this review the day after our dinner and I have been sick to my stomach all day. It is now 1:25PM on Mother’s Day and I missed lunch with my mom because I just made my 7th trip to the restroom today and am in no condition to drive across town let alone eat more...

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ARE CORRECT!!!! The good reviews got lucky. We went here yesterday to celebrate my son's birthday six adults and two children. We won't be back for the food. We spent $351.48 not sure why because we had to keep looking for our waitress, we had to ask for silverware and napkins. We had three Sampler Platters the wing were cold and the waitress took the wings off the platters and took them to the back not sure what she did with them didn't understand why she just didn't take the platters, the mac n cheese balls were dry, chicken tenders. The spinach dip was ok could've been better we had two of those for the table. They brought out fresh buffalo wings and that was it everyone at the table was frustrated by the time they came out so just got to go boxes. We got a chicken tenders with the fries for a two 2 year old and a 7 year old that was excited about coming here but didn't enjoy their food at all.

The only thing that was good was the half king kong ice cream sundae for our son's birthday and the birthday song. When we got our bill they charge us for an extra chicken tender basket and I let the waitress know but she was basically calling me a liar and it was extremely frustrating then she got an attitude and went to the manager to get the money credited back and the waitress advised that the manager was coming over because they couldn't credit back the overcharge. The waitress advised the manager was new not sure what that had to do with anything this place is not customer service friendly at all. The manager came to the table and advised she couldn't credit my card back for the overpayment but she could write my name down and she had a piece of paper so when I come back it will be a $15 credit now we all know I won't be getting that credit and that she definitely won't be there if I ever go back. To top it all off they charge us $46.92 for gratuity of the worst service ever. I won't be going back it is ridiculous that the customer service was so poor in an establishment that is basically scamming the customers because the food was horrible the service was horrible. Making people pay for poor customer service is CRAZY!!! DO NOT EVEN THINK OF GOING HERE!!! Oh and there was something burning in the kitchen when we...

Went here on Valentine’s Day, me and my significant other. While we know there would be a delay due to the holiday we didn’t think things would go this bad. We had reservations for 9pm stood in line for about 15-20 mins but when we got the the front about 8:50 they let us know it would be about an hour wait. We hung around for a bit and set down about 9:40, places our order about 10:20 and NEVER got our meal. We watched everyone around us get their food and we all set down at the same time. A man walked pass asking everyone how things going, I informed him we haven’t received our food yet mind you it was about 11:30 at this point. He said the line is backed up, me and other guests informed them we sat down at the same time they had theirs. He came back again saying the line is backed up and that’s why again and he had a very nasty attitude like I’m working for wanting my food, how can you be irritated I answered your question on how things are going? I requested a manager and he came to my table at about 12am and said sorry and he would give us a voucher. Mind you my bf purchased two goblets and I ordered a flight but we stopped drinking when it seemed weren’t going to get our food so we barely touched our drinks. He did not charg us thank God but it was late with no other options, our Valentine’s Day was over and we had. Nothing to eat. There was nothing open, a day we can not get back. What a terrible experience and the worst part about it is, the manage knew it was messed up so he said our next visit would be on the house… drinks because we barely touched them and food since we never got it. We went back and explained what happened, since he wasn’t there they said they called him and he only offered a $100 voucher which at Sugar Factory is enough to cover two drinks. This was unacceptable, inexcusable….. why didn’t we ever get our order… why didn’t the manger stick to his word. There I found my self paying for a meal I was supposed to get two weeks prior. Mind you this is my favorite restaurant I go here often and for every birthday even before they came to Jax I traveled to Tampa at another location and never had a bad experience until now. Please do better.

The atmosphere is beautiful and fun! The chicken stir fry and Mac and cheese balls were excellent. A server letting unsuspecting customers pay her 40% tip for bad service is UNACCEPTABLE. We had a reservation and they graciously sat is without our full party there. We were fine that we didn't get service right away, but the rest of our party got there shortly after and then we got served. One app came at the same time as the food, one app didn't come at all, and we consistently had to ask for refills. After two hours of slow service and having to pay to have them sing Happy Birthday to our bday girl, we finally started paying the bills when the server brought over the payment pad. There was no check, she just told us the amount. The first person paid and left, the second person asked what the 3% "service charge" was for and the server said she didn't know, but they just have it. So that person paid and left, as well as the third. My turn comes and I always tip in cash so I hand the server a $20 and just let her know I need change when she gets a second. Then she tells me my cost, which sounded high. I asked her to show me the bill and I noticed a 23% add on and asked why I was paying that. She apparently, again, didnt know. None of us were told or noticed anything posted educating people that for parties of 6 or more, they automatically charge gratuity. It took the acting manager coming over 3 times trying to figure out the issue to finally let us know that. Obviously, that is perfectly fine, we're all happy to pay that if we'd know, but when you don't physically see the bill and just are told a cost and tap to pay here, that is unacceptable. Apparently, in their book of a menu, the "service charge" information is on page 5 or 6 where all the alcohol is located. For a group that was not drinking, we would have never seen that. So this server, that was definitely not amazing by any means, did not deserve 40% tip from 3 members of our party. I normally tip 25% on tabs because things are expensive and my daughter is in the service industry, but I definitely did not tip this server anymore than required. Do better Sugar Factory, do better!
