I have purchased many furniture items from this company and this store in the past and been pleased every time. Not the case with my most recent purchase. I purchased an ottoman in February of 2021 aware of delays and material shortages. I was notified late August that my ottoman would be delivered August 30th by FragilePak per Ballard Designs. FragilePak would call me the day prior to give me a four hour window, as well as 30 minutes prior the day of delivery. I received neither. I was home all day so this was not a problem for me. Needles to say my delivery never showed up. I contacted BD on August 31 to let them know , thinking it was just a fluke, we would reschedule a delivery date and all would be fine. The nice person I spoke with told me it would be 3 days before they would reach out to me and let me know what is going on. On September 3rd I reached out again asking for some answers. I quickly received an email saying the delivery company has proof it was delivered with a signature and sent the "proof" the signature was a straight line. Clearly not mine. It is insulting when you tell me that my delivery was delivered and I contacting you for a second time stating it was not. I have 3 cameras that cover my front door, my driveway and my whole front yard. I also have a delivery time stated on my "proof" of delivery. I have also read many horrible reviews on the new delivery company that BD is using. As I mentioned earlier I have purchased many large items (20 plus), most that have needed to be delivered from BD, I have never had a problem when they used JB Hunt . I always had professional and reliable service in the past. Now I am having to get my credit card company involved to have my money returned as BD does not seem concerned with this problem. Very disappointed. I have always loved Ballard, fast shipping on our bar stools, rugs and lighting throughout our home. In December of 2023 I was excited to come into the Jacksonville location and pick out a custom bed. We chose a performance fabric and bed and ordered same day! Originally we were told how it would take a few months and be delivered in April 2024 which was acceptable! We planned our entire master room furniture around this bed and started ordering additional items to finish the look. Come to find out April came and went and we were told don’t worry it will be here in May! Again, totally acceptable and excited to get the bed. It is now August and I have been told over the summer that they had to switch vendors and that our bed had a rush on it. We were told to call the Jacksonville store early summer and finally got through to a manager. Come to find out our order was supposed to be rekeyed and did not get rekeyed until July. I was told on numerous occasions that the manager was going to call us back. I have only heard from her once and she was looking into it. Every time I call customer service it’s same story and they deflect to the Jacksonville store. Unfortunately, once a long term “forever” customer- I do not forsee any future purchases with this company. I still have no bed, no correction to actually expedite the order in any way, not to mention I may not even be able to receive the bed if it comes at this new expected date as I am due with our 2nd baby! Every time I visit this store I receive outstanding customer service. The employees go out of there way to help. They make shopping there very fun, and they are attentive to your needs. Julio, Katrina, Ann, and Kathy have all made my shopping experience outstanding. The store is full of beautiful high quality furnishings. I am very pleased with everything I have purchased in this store. Returning and exchanging is made very simple as well. I highly recommend this store for all household decor. I purchased two beautiful Winslet chests for oversized bedside tables. It took several months for them to come in, but they were worth the wait. They are beautiful. Unfortunately, two of the drawers in one of the chests did not function properly, and would not close without lots of effort. When I contacted the store manager, Julio, he immediately responded to my concerns. He personally delivered a new chest to me, and made sure all the drawers were operating perfectly. This was not during his work day. The chests are large and heavy. He carried them up the double stairs to our condo by himself. This personalized service is definitely above and beyond any kind of service I have ever experienced with a retail business.
