Myself and My husband went to this Academy location on Monday, 1/06/20 at around 5:30 PM to be exact. My husband went to purchase his dream rifle - a Mossberg Patriot (in cash). What was my first red flag - was the fact that they did not have any more of this in particular model in stock and they still wanted full price for the show floor rifle. I told my husband no - if were going to be spending $600 ++ on a rifle - I wanted it to be new, fresh out of the box. However, my husbands heart was set on going home with this rifle, so he obliged. Mind you - there were (3) associates working behind the counter. Only 1 younger gentleman that was helping my husband and being courteous. There was a younger guy with black slicked back hair who just plopped down the stores iPad onto the counter - didn’t even look myself or my husband in the eye to explain the iPad application process and walked off....he just said “password is your last name and zip code” and literally walked off. That was all. So I picked up the iPad and started inputting my husbands information. He gave his Drivers License as well as his concealed weapons permit to this guy before the application process even began. A few seconds pass - just long enough for me to enter in my husbands name and our address - and this same guy came up and said “you can’t fill that out for him - he has to”. THEN a woman working behind the gun counter comes up and says “No - he can’t fill it out either the sale is cancelled”. My husband then said “we’ll then my wife will purchase the gun and do the application in her name” and the woman still declined and said “no” that “it was against the law” and my husband asked “can I come back tomorrow & redo the application” and she just kept saying “No it is against the law”. By this time, I am embarrassed and angry. No one explained that I couldn’t fill out the application for my husband? Heck, no one said anything to us AT ALL other than “password is your last name and zip code”. So I told my husband let’s take our business elsewhere. We had our cart filled with other miscellaneous hunting necessities and it would have easily been over a $1,000 cash sale. When we reached our Truck in the parking lot my husband noticed that they did not give him back his drivers license or concealed weapons permit - so we walk back to the gun section where the woman is there behind the counter and I stated “we need his drivers license and concealed weapons permit back please” and all she said was “he took it to customer service” I then asked “whom is the he that you are referring to” and she said “Ummm” and then stated the associates name. So ironically when we go to head towards customer service the younger guy with the black slicked hair is walking around the store WITH MY HUSBANDS DRIVERS LICENSE AND CONCEALED WEAPONS! My husband then reaches for his information and the guy hands it to him. Due to Academy’s absolutely horrific customer service - I refuse to do business with them ever again......We will be sure to relay what occurred to all of the members of our Hunting...

One of my favorite stores, I can't think of another place I would rather blow my money. I just got to speak on what I happen to pull up on when I arrived here the other day . So I pick my parking spot, there was another car parked already in front of me, and as I'm getting myself together to go inside, making sure I have wallet, phone etc, I see to lady's walking up one walks straight to the trunk of their car and opened it, looking right at me as she did this, the look she gave along with her body language was as if she was concerned about who I was or wether or not I was a threat , I made a joke to my buddy that was riding passenger, -said: "she come out here looking like shes about to rob the place". as im saying this I notice a man come out of the store with a cart full of shoes,cloths and other items then I see a store clerk following slightly behind him with his phone out 🤳. I knew right then that my joke wasn't funny anymore as it was happening right in front of me. Craziest thing I've seen in a long time . The guy casually loaded up the trunk then calmly get in the back seat of the vehicle and they casually drive off , I couldn't believe I really just witnessed that. As I'm getting out my car I noticed the clerk that standing there, and he confirmed what had happened actually happened. I'm just glad nobody was hurt and everyone was ok. Shot out to the employee who fallowed the guy all the way to the car and got a vid of them And the license plate...

This store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced Went there yesterday to purchase a bicycle. I spent over 30 minutes looking at bikes and never saw one employee. I finally left to do my own further reseat h in line. Went back today.sOme do to store saw no employees except at customer service. No one greeted me as I entered, no employees seen or encountered as I walked to back of store pick out bike After 10 minutes of seeing no employees I went to customer service counter. They called for employee to help me. 10 minutes later no one had shown up so I went back to customer service and again requested help. Finally after waiting for over 30 minutes for the second day in a row an employee showed up. I had a couple of questions which he had no idea of the answer. Finally I grabbed the bike I had pick out and went to cash register and paid for it he bike. If I had not spent so much time effort in my search for a new bike I would have just left without the bike. As it is I will never go back. If I can not get help with questions or other concerns I will just...
