My recent visit to Burgers, Pies, and Fries presented a fairly average dining experience that still left me satisfied. The restaurant prides itself on being a go-to spot for casual dining, offering a menu that, while not groundbreaking, caters well to traditional fast-food lovers. The customer service was notably friendly, a highlight that made the visit more enjoyable. Staff members were welcoming and attentive, creating a positive atmosphere right from the start. However, the ambiance of the place didn't quite match the warmth of the staff. It was somewhat bland, lacking the vibrant energy or unique character that can make dining out a more memorable experience. As for the food, my choices were a spicy chicken sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings were a delightful surprise, perfectly crispy and flavorful, earning a solid 7 out of 10. They stood out as the star of the meal, suggesting that the kitchen has the potential to deliver truly tasty options. On the other hand, the spicy chicken sandwich fell a bit short of expectations. It lacked seasoning, which left it tasting somewhat bland. Despite this, it was still a decent meal, deserving a 6.8 out of 10, thanks mainly to its fresh ingredients and quality preparation.Price-wise, Burgers, Pies, and Fries hits the sweet spot. The meal was affordable without sacrificing portion size or quality. This aspect, combined with the friendly service, contributes to its appeal as a solid option for a no-frills lunch or dinner. In conclusion, while Burgers, Pies, and Fries may not offer a culinary adventure, it delivers a reliable, pleasant dining experience. With its friendly staff, fair pricing, and a couple of standout menu items, it earns a well-deserved 6.5 out of 10. It's a place I'd recommend for those looking for an easy, satisfying meal...
Read moreHamburgers made from brisket which is freshly ground daily? Yes, please! Seriously, what's better than brisket? A piping, hot brisket cheeseburger! The fries were nice & hot, too, & also freshly made from raw potatoes. To top it off, there are the many types of fried fruit pies which are...yep, you guessed it, made fresh daily. My husband got a chocolate cream fried pie which arrived hot & ooey gooey after we were done with our meal. It was a hot but delicious mess. I'm not a fan of straight chocolate, but I had to put my finger into it for a taste, & it was ah-may-zing because it tasted like chocolate fudge which was still cooling, but it was most likely made from chocolate fudge pudding, but, still, it tasted like chocolate fudge! I got the piña colada fried pie which was a combination of pineapple & coconut & also came all nice & hot. Next time, I want to try a peach fried pie. There are also savory fried pies which come in a combo with the sweet fried pies, & I'm definitely going to try that, too. Oh, & any fried pies which aren't sold by the end of the night are frozen, marked for sale, & accompanied by heating directions. Frozen fried pies can't be bought through the drive-thru; you need to come inside in order to purchase. The only downside to the whole experience is the greasy smell when you enter. When I got home, everything that we were wearing was put directly into the washing machine, & my hair needed to be washed, but it was definitely worth it for the yumminess...
Read moreI ordered 3 piece chicken tender dinner and a fried pie. I was given the fried pie at the counter and took a seat. After watching the people in front of me in line and some people that came in after me eat and leave, I inquired about my order to learn they had failed to prepare it. The (I assume) manager came to my table and told me they were going to give me a 5 piece dinner at no extra charge because of my wait. I told her that would be more than I wanted to eat and I was traveling and could not take hot food with me. I was brought the 5 piece dinner, ate the chicken and bread left the fries. I took the fried pie with me as I had eaten more than enough without it.
The food was all good but I would have been happier with something I could have taken with me, as in a discount coupon for a return visit or another fried pie which could be carried without an ice chest. A simple apology would have been better than giving me something I told them I didn't want.
Other than that, adding a spicy dipping sauce to the selection that doesn't include the word " Ranch"...
