Last day with my niece she requested ihop for breakfast, we are not from the area so we were told Jeff City had one did not expect the experience we got 🤦🏻♀️. Took about 10 minutes to get our drinks (not busy at all) after we placed our order the waitress came back to clarify part of the order, that should have been the first clue it wasn’t going to end well, took 35 minutes to get our food, but when we did receive it the order the was came back to clairfy was not given to use.
Waitress asked what we were missing, which we said they order you had to clarify. Another 20 minutes go by we had to pull another waitress to see where our order was and at that point get a manager. Manager came and apologized, was very nice, said the order did not get rang in correctly and thst his would be taken off and % off the rest of our order. The manager asked the waitress to get Togo cups for order drinks while she went to get the missing items from the order.
When the waitress came back with an ENORMOUS ATTITUDE!!!!, slammed our cups onto the table and just walked away when trying to explain that they were suppose to be Togo, saying the manager didn’t tell me that, when in front of us 3 times had to tell her to just go get them to go.
Then didn’t come back withcthe check we went and waited at the front to get the check🤦🏻♀️. I get being new, busy, understaffed, I have been there in my line of work, but that was completely and utterly ridiculous in terms of service, and it was only our server, watching the servers around us it isn’t all it was just our server.
We should have known watching 2 couples walk out before even getting drinks with this server.
We just know when come back to this area we will not return and make sure our family in the area know not to come to...
Read moregave it a few tries but my friends and i won't come back after this time. was never introduced to our server once, we had a guy taking our order that clearly wasn't our server. he did a fine job helping the waitress out since she was clearly overwhelmed with us and one other table. but she never checked on us, and we had to get her attention (that took a few minutes) in order to get a refill. there were three of us with empty cups and she came back with two refills even though the third one also asked for a refill. the guy gave us our food and then she immediately came over and set a check on the table and walked away. I asked for BBQ sauce and they forgot (which is not a big deal except they NEVER came by to check on us the entire time). we heard her screaming about the other table that left after paying in cash and she was trying to say that they dined and dashed. we could hear her in the kitchen while we were sitting at our table. we asked for the checks to be split because we had two people paying with card and one with cash. after 20 minutes of staring at her after we asked. I finally paid the whole tab with cash and ended up leavinf a tip sadly. I always try to be kind and understanding since I work in the restaurant industry myself. this is the only time I've actually gotten upset at a server for being so bad at their job lol. I literally gave this person five dollars of my own money as a tip for her to do nothing but yell about other tables amd ignore us. with limited options around here for breakfast food I guess I'll be going with dennys or...
Read moreWhat a horrible experience! After waiting a while for service we decided to get "to go orders" as we were on a strict time schedule. We then placed our orders and eventually the waitress brought us our drinks out in glasses. Also she brought out silverware and a large bottle of sugar free syrup. I asked if she remembered these were to go orders which she sharply replied, "Yes." After a long wait the order was packed and paid for. I asked if we were given sugar free syrup and she rudely remarked that they don't have small bottles so she would have to go put some in a container. While waiting for her return we noticed she brought out water to a table. We were extremely crunched for time. My daughter ran to the table where we had been seated and poured syrup on the pancakes. The waitress returned to the kitchen and came out with a container as my daughter finished. She then spouted rudely, "I am the only server on duty." There were only 2 tables with customers. We hurried to our vehicle without comment. As my daughter pulled out her crepe she was very disappointed to find her crepe was not assembled. The cold cream filling was in a container at the bottom of the bag. When did IHOP stop assembling breakfast items?
Hopefully the manager can tell this server that manners make a difference as does tone of voice and attitude. An apology with kindness would not have resulted in an unsatisfactory review for this...
