It's about time to update this review, since this location has improved about 100% since my last review.
This Chili's location is on our Sunday lunch rotation. Since we generally arrive within 20 minutes of opening we never have a wait. We also like to sit in the bar, so the wait is even less of a wait.
A large part of the reason we sit in the bar is because of Kelsey. She's been there every Sunday we've visited for probably close to two years, and she is AWESOME. She always greets us with a smile, know what we like to drink, and brings us an order of Chips and Salsa right off the bat.
After a major upgrade a couple years ago the restaurant has a very nice, welcoming feel. To be honest, before this recent renovation I was completely unaware that there were tables behind the bar. #WhoKnew?
I tend to rotate through 2 or 3 menu items (the Classic Nachos, the Chipotle Bowl, or the R̶a̶n̶c̶h̶e̶r̶o̶ ̶C̶h̶i̶c̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶S̶o̶f̶t̶ ̶T̶a̶c̶o̶s̶ --no...wait...they discontinued those for some asinine reason). Ok, so I rotate between two things.
My sole complaint any more is that the music played in the bar (and, perhaps, throughout the restaurant) is often Too Freakin' Loud. I like the music, but I also like to be able to talk to my server and to my wife. We've mentioned it to a couple servers and to another patron or two and they don't disagree.
During Covid I wondered how this Chili's would fare. At times they were open, other times not, of just the bar would be open, or open with limited staff. I was genuinely concerned for the staying power of this location because, even to us, it looked like it was one the precipice of disaster a number of times. I have to congratulate the managers and the staff that stayed in the...
Read moreTerrible experience. My son and I went to this establishment on Saturday, April 13, 2019, approximately 6:40 pm to have dinner prior to my son's prom. We experienced some modern day segregation, in one of most diverse locations in Louisville. Upon entering the establishment it appeared to be 75% fill capacity. The young male host led us to our table, in the corner section of the restaurant. As we approached the table to be seated, I had looked around and noticed, only elderly African Americans couples were seated in this small section, while the rest of restaurant was open to Caucasian Americans. My son and I sat down and made eye contact with the other two African American couples . They promptly stated."we know", meaning they are aware of the situation. Therefore, my son and I departed the restaurant with the intent of not coming back again . Noting , if a restaurant is doing this, what else are...
Read moreThe food was okay and is the only reason I gave it two stars. The service was poor. We had to get up from our table to ask for silverware, after our food was served. Mine was dirty. After several failed attempts to politely get her attention my Mom and I had to get up to track her down. When I confronted her, she went into blame others mode. I told her I wasn't interested in who caused the problem. I asked her who could fix it. She walked away without saying a word. I was tense but rude. After standing there (next to a server station in a walkway) for six minutes with three separate servers passing us by without making eye contact we got our own silverware. We were seated for another three or four minutes before she showed up at our table with new silverware for me. Btw, the place was not busy - only a few customers and well after the dinner rush. And... the...
