McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Jeffersontown

This new location is very clean and it was nice to be able to dispense my own drink or get a refill whenever I wanted to. There was virtually no line and I think that was due to having multiple cashiers, which rocked. My cashier did log my food correctly on my order, but I asked for a cup for water and was charged $2.99 for a sweet tea. I didn’t notice until she handed me the big cup used for fountain drinks after I paid and at that point I didn’t want to hold up the line so I just accepted that I would have a fountain drink haha. The food came out really quickly for the lunch rush, which was good, but if you ask for any modifications to your meal, don’t expect them to do it even if it’s on your receipt. I asked for no tomato and to substitute the spicy mustard for regular and they just basically made the sandwich totally to standard with no obvious change other than the spicy mustard being on the side instead (which was good since I didn’t want the spicy mustard anyway). Although… I’m not sure if the mustard comes on the sandwich or the side anyway since I’ve never had that one! My coworkers had similar order inaccuracies and we all realized it was just because we modified something on the standard build of whatever was inaccurate. I think if we all ordered to standard, everyone would’ve gotten what they wanted? Otherwise, the Italian sandwich was very tasty and had a good portion of ingredients on it. The potato soup is not very good, or at least it wasn’t the day I went. It was runny and sorta bland when you didn’t get bites of bacon in a spoonful. Overall, I would go back since it was a quick and good lunch, but I wouldn’t take anyone here that needs their order to be modified because I’m not quite sure it would happen. Hopefully they improve on this...

I visited this location at the end of a lunch rush, so this review is based on that experience.

Upon arrival, my first reaction was a little overwhelmed due to the parking lot being limited as it shares the spaces with the other companies in the building. I was going to try to do another lap with my car in the parking lot to find a more reasonable spot, but unfortunately there was no way to really turn around, so I had to settle with a spot at the opposite side of the building. This also posed an issue with leaving, as there is not a lot of room for any kind of traffic.

When I walked into the restaurant, they still looked incredibly busy, but all the patrons were seated, so that was a relief to know I would not be waiting long. I placed an online order and took only about 10 minutes for them to complete the order for pickup, which was impressive. When I got to the pickup stand, I noticed that my order was not in the shelf area that represents the first letter of my last name. As I stood there for a few minutes waiting, a staff member did approach me and asked me for my name so they could locate my order, which I was a relief since I did not approach anyone for assistance. They did locate my food, and turns out they used the first letter of my first name, that did confuse me a bit as most places use the first letter of the last name.

I ordered the combo 2 with Spicy Southwest Chicken and nachos, with a sweet tea. The food was just as I ordered, and the sweet tea was great, not too sweet, but sweet enough to enjoy! I plan to visit this...

It was my favorite restaurant just till a little while ago I notice is has changed I noticed the portions got smaller and it’s not worth my money any more. I been their a few times and they been out of things I don’t know what’s going on. I order a lot of salads but they almost look’s like they are half size of what they always use to be, the employees are always very nice and friendly but lately I noticed the atmosphere is very different.
