Went on opening day, got a burrito with veggie patty - it was fine, pretty bland.
Two weeks later or so I went to get a burrito and walked into an empty restaurant with four kids working behind the counter. I felt like I was interrupting a clubhouse meeting. The way the woman at the counter greeted me was impersonal and jarring (no “hello;” immediately into canned upselling jargon about a “signature burrito” or something) and that set the tone for the entire experience. I chose to add cauliflower to the burrito. Actually I chose veggie patty but immediately changed my mind - the line cook actually made me repeat it to him, as if this was some sort of big deal.
After the server added my burrito filling it took about 5 minutes to wait for the cauliflower to be prepared. I watched one of the servers who looked to be about 15 awkwardly mess around with the cauliflower until he handed it to the burrito line, where I watched her awkwardly trying to wrap my burrito, burying her hands (in gloves) into the food and failing at wrapping it miserably, while the staff was cheering her on and watching helplessly. By this time I lost my appetite and after they apologized for failing to prepare a basic order properly, I just politely left. It was frankly embarassing to watch.
I think they basically did not anticipate how to add the cauliflower to my burrito and besides it taking 5 minutes more time to prepare than the burrito itself (a truly backwards system - the whole idea is the food is already ready…) they couldn’t figure out how to reasonably portion this out into a burrito. But I don’t patronize food establishments and pay $10 so I can find out what the product of what “trying to figure out” tastes like, and that’s kind of the vibe that this place is generally giving.
A note to the owner - you get what you pay for. Hire some actual adults, not any child off the street to work for your restaurant. And if you do hire some high school kids get someone with some experience but most importantly common sense and some level of maturity. A really unprofessional atmosphere doesn’t give me good faith that the food is being handled properly. 4 of your employees couldn’t even manage to serve me a burrito in an empty restaurant without screwing it up. I definitely...

I went to Bubbakoo’s Burritos on Cinco de Mayo for a “Buy 1 Entree, Get 1 Free” promotion they advertised. Simple, right? Think again. I placed my order only to be met with blank stares and confusion from the staff. They had no clue what the promotion was. After standing around awkwardly for over 20 minutes while they called their manager, I was finally told I had to buy an entree now and redeem the free one on a future visit. Seriously? That’s not a deal—that’s a scam disguised as a promotion. A blatant money grab.
Frustrated but determined not to waste my “free” entree, I returned the next day. This time, the app gave me an option to redeem in-store. I clicked “Redeem” before placing my order—expecting a seamless experience. Nope. Once again, the staff didn’t know how to process it. I was told I’d have to call customer service because I already clicked “redeem” and their system doesn’t allow you to go back. The “offer” expired in 30 minutes, and they had no way of applying it manually. They couldn’t enter a code. They couldn’t honor the promotion. They couldn’t even fake competence.
This is not the first time I’ve had issues with this location. It’s a consistent pattern of poorly trained staff, confused managers, and tech systems that are completely disconnected from the company’s own marketing. How are you running national promotions when your own team can’t execute them?
Now I’m out over $40 for food I didn’t even want in the first place, just trying to get some value out of a promotion you advertised.
To anyone thinking of going here: DONT. Save yourself the frustration. The app is a mess. The employees are untrained. The management is absent. And the “deals” are deceptive.
