This is practically everything you’d want in a local coffee shop. The staff has seen minimal turn over which means I see the same faces for years now and I know I’m going to get my order made correctly with great service. The inside decor is a great restoration which netted the building an award from the city several years back. They boast a great selection of pour over selections, teas, espresso based selections, iced coffees, and Matcha to boot. They always have a solid lineup of grab and go pastries which they can warm up for you if you ask. Some of the food is locally sourced, and some of it is made in house. On the weekends they have slightly larger selections with small sandwiches. I never have to wait long, even if the entire Jersey City fire department shows up or it’s morning drop off at PS8. If you are local definitely sign up for their points-based loyalty system. You will be earning a free coffee in no time because you will be coming back to this...

I did not try the filter coffee or cold brew, which I may come back for if I am in the neighborhood, but the espresso drinks are not to my personal preference. They kindly added two shots of espresso for me so that it would be more like what I was expecting. I felt sort of awkward asking but appreciated their efforts to make it right.
If I lived in the neighborhood I would probably come again and try their regular drip coffee because it was comfortable and people seemed nice. And if you like really milky coffee drinks it might be a good...
Read moreLocated in the heights on Franklin St, this place has a cute ambiance and gives relaxing vibes to have a coffee especially during weekends!
I decided to go for black velvet which is a dark roast and asked for a shot of whole milk to be added which turned out to be Cafe au Lait. The dark roast felt smooth enough and was refreshing enough to wake me up on a gloomy day from the little sleep I had in my eyes! I also decided to try out their 'everything croissant' with cream cheese, it's just the bagel version of croissant and it tasted good. The pastry though seems to be bought from somewhere but was fresh enough to start the morning!
The service was quick and the baristas were friendly, overall a good local place to have a coffee. Would definitely love to try out their other selections as well...
