This place is amazing! Im surprised by the poor reviews. I thought the wait staff were excellent. We were a party of 4, non Spanish speakers. And while yes, a lot of the staff speak mainly Spanish I didn't find it hard to communicate and they were so warm and welcoming.
They have a really nice covered outside area. Can't order alcohol outside yet but after we ate dinner we just went inside to the bar and it was great. 6 o'clock on a Saturday was busy but not crowded. You can get a table.
The prices are so affordable. And portions are huge! Their menu has pictures for every dish! I love that. And it looks exactly like it does in the picture. I got a salad with skirt steak on top and it was huge! All the veggies where fresh and I really liked the onions, I think they were pickled or something. The steak was cooked exactly how I ordered and was marinated beautifully. Had a great flavor and only 1 slice of it was chewy. My fiance had the whole fried snapper and it came with a salad too. And he loved it. My friends liked their dishes as well. The presentation of the food is so professional. Every plate is so well organized and looks so mouth watering.
I think I saw that they have happy hour during the week until 6pm with half off drinks. That's so good! You can then get a pina colada for $6
The bar tender knows her stuff. I really felt like their was love put into my drink. Just watching her prepare every drink she did it so meticulously. She also wiped the counter frequently and kept the bar nice and clean. And there was a lot of alcohol in my pina colada for only $12! I really liked the nice touches with the garnishes as well. It had a cherry and pineapple poking out of the glass and coconut shavings all over. A lot of other bars don't really garnish but this place does and I appreciate that! I tried some of my fiances passion fruit margarita and lime margarita. Both were excellent. So refreshing. And none of the cocktails were overally sweet.
They were playing some sort of fail video channel over the bar. As well as a UFC game. The fail videos where actually pretty fun to watch. Another TV had pictures of their dishes.
I can't wait to come back. We do archery down the street so we hope to return. I want to try their other dishes and have...
Read moreThis is long overdue. I’ve given this place ample opportunities but tonight I’m beyond disappointed. It’s my young son’s favorite place. He placed an order on uber eats but immediately cancelled it and we opted for pickup instead. Once the app notified us it was ready we went inside. One of the waitresses stated that the order was cancelled. I explained to her that the delivery order was cancelled but a pickup order was placed. This man that was at the bar eating decides to intervene and state that we were wrong. I showed him our app that clearly shows our food was ready. He ignores me and said that it’s the app’s mistake and not theirs. Again I try to show him and again he ignores me. Since I was being persistent, he decides to get up and check a computer at the back which shows him that there should be an order ready for pickup. Our order. I told him that he now has to deliver it. We had already waited and I wasn’t prepared to wait any longer. He said he didn’t have to and walks away. We have been loyal customers for many years along with many of our friends and family. We as customers invest into these business in our community. The least he could’ve done is apologized for their mistake and offered the delivery. I feel bad for my son because he can have his chicken tiritas every day if it was up to him. Now as a Jersey City resident I have el and will be taking my business to Union City. He should be ashamed of himself and the owners should be aware that this is the person representing their...
Read moreChanging my original 5 star review to 3. The way the front of the house treats people is disgusting! When I dine-in it’s a different experience. We have eaten here and given this restaurant so much buisness spending $40-$80 if not weekly during the summer then biweekly!
Today, the lady at the front ignored my son and I. usually, I wouldn’t care and give people the benefit of the doubt. (Maybe she didn’t see me?) So I brushed it off. That was UNTIL she looked at me in my eyes and then proceeded to take the next person in line. I expressed I didn’t order yet and the same lady looked dead in my eyes AGAIN twisted up her face and took the following person. She blatantly ignored me again even after me speaking up.
This is not the first, the second or third time I have experienced this type of behavior from the front of the house when placing an order for the past few months. Literally, just last week another lady got upset about me asking if there was custard or any filling in the almond croissant. She huffed and asked “was that it?” Rushing to ring me up without even answering my question. I asked again and she answered with a response as if I was bothering her.
It’s unfortunate because my son and I genuinely enjoy eating here. Management should secret shop the front of the house to see how some people are actually getting treated. Why would I want to spend my hard earned money where people act as if they don’t even want...
