Wang Wang — Restaurant in Jersey City

My experience with this fast food place was disappointing. I had made a huge order that was nearly over $65.00. To begin with they were an hour late with the delivery. After an hour later, the Chinese delivery man delivered the food, yes it was hot- however, he received a full payment of $78.50 plus a $15.00 tip and he still demanded a bigger tip. After he was told that we gave him a $15.00 tip he told me in front of my family that we were no good because we should have gave him a bigger tip. This was very unprofessional and disturbing. I don’t understand how is it that these people demand a tip when in reality they charge everyone for DELIVERY which they use that as a tip for the driver. I didn’t have to give him a tip but I did it because I know they are out in the cold making deliveries. However, it is ILLEGAL for any fast food place to charge for delivery and to tax people more than what they are supposed too. I will be filing a COMPLAINT with NJ CONSUMER AFFAIRS because it’s been going on for way too long now. I will also be contacting the health department to have them inspected for the many hazards and unsanitized food and areas in this restaurant. Thank you for returning my money. This is the best of the Chinese food restaurants in the area... which isn't saying much when compared to the other options. Someone has to be the best though, right?

Be prepared for them to not start making your order until you show to pick it up. Or for them to be closed on random days. Or for them to not answer the phone the first 2-3 times you call.

But with that being said, they are consistent with their food so you know what you're going to get every time. I don't stray far from the "combo platters" or the dumplings so the more involved dishes I can't speak on. I live around the corner so I've never ordered delivery and always pick up.

Taking all of this into account and having tried Panda House and Old Peking which are less than two blocks apart from each other, New Wang Wang has earned my business as long as I am living...

Usually order from this place and almost all the deliveries i get has something wrong with it. This time i ordered multiple plates for a big party including 2 half fried chicken with fried rice. Instead they just gave me diced flavorless chicken with fried rice. I tried to call multiple times and the guy argued over the phone with me for about 30 minutes suggesting that i ordered this plus the other plates. I told him that HE gave us the wrong order and that we still have the plates and we'll gladly give them back for our right orders. He kept arguing with me and charged us an extra $4 dollars for HIS mistake. Food came burnt and dry and did not taste good whatsoever.
