Ann-Nail Salon — Local services in Jersey City

I’ve been a loyal customer for 8 years, and the ONE time I tell Liz that I am not happy with a design, she makes my nails all the same color and says she isn’t going to do designs, then charges me $35. I came today to reconcile with her but she said she doesn’t feel comfortable doing my nails anymore because I didn’t like the designs ONCE in 8 years.

I asked, “So you’re saying that a customer can’t complain if they are unhappy?” Because for all of you reading, if the chef made your steak medium rare when you asked for well done, you wouldn’t send it back? If you pay for a service and it isn’t up to your standards and you paid the price, you shouldn’t speak up? She said “If someone tells me they don’t like my design then I don’t do their nails again.”

What’s crazy is that I had a similar situation happen with Maddie and she understood we don’t share the same taste and did it AGAIN to my liking. This is an act of professionalism.

This is not how business is supposed to run. If I was a loud, hostile customer, I probably would have been taken care of. It’s unprofessional to not service the customer when that’s your area of business. I wasn’t rude or anything. I politely asked if we can change it, and that should not have been a big deal nor cause any lack of confidence in her skills.

This place is horrible! The owner "KIM" has uncertified people doing manicures and pedicures along with doing nails of all kind, period. No one in this salon takes their job seriously nor loves what they do. The Spanish girls have attitudes and only service the regular customers and turn away new customers. The young girls ages 16&17 that are uncertified also work there and do a horrible job. Nasty attitudes and displays are dished out. The staff here may greet you nicely when you arrive only because they see dollar signs on you. I recommend for everyone to go to NAIL TEK located in Downtown Jersey City. I promise you that you'll never be disappointed. The pricing is great and the services is VERY PROFESSIONAL! Believe me when I say " YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED AT NAIL TEK! I will never go back to this salon again. Within a week, your nails and polish comes off and breaks. They barely sanitize their tools. Many people have caught fongus due to poor Cleaning Maitenance and dirty tools. There is no refund or consideration for their poor work outcomes. NEVER COME HERE TO DO YOUR NAILS! It was my first time going there and I don’t like anything they did except my eyebrows. I wanted my nails very short and she wouldn’t make them short. She said she wanted something nice for me. I just wanted my nails short and a certain color, but no. The lady that did my toes was horrible. I told her to cut a little, she cut a whole lot. Now my toes look like I have no type of nail on it. And for my first time going there the price was over $100. They not listening to what the customer wants. They doing whatever they want to do and charge you so much for a horrible job. They just robbing people for they money. A business should not be run like that. That’s my first and last time going there.
