Wonder Bagels — Restaurant in Jersey City

So I hate writing bad reviews—but when I do it means it was really bad Overall- so today my friends and I decide to go get get wonder bagel on central Ave, in jersey city (the fact that it was closer) because of our experience If Sip Ave’s wonder bagel, who are by the way awesome, and great service. We went in and saw that it was not so much busy, we made our order and then waited to pay. A few mins went by and it started to get much more busier, but we waited, we started noticing people who came 5/10mins after me were getting their their orders.. all I got was a bagel and cream cheese and 2 egg and cheese on a roll- s/p/k-.However. I decide I wasn’t going to say much to them and wait cause I understand it’s busy. But seeing people get their orders like egg and cheese with bacon and so on and I was still there not getting mine made me feel like what the heck is going on...— after a few the line died down and I was still waiting it must have been 45 mins after — cause I was on the phone for 45 mins waiting. The staffs would call my name and ask what did you get and every time he went back he would be doing something else and then the guy at the register goes to me oh sorry were busy— like I mean I get that but I’m waiting for 45 mins for just simple sandwiches. After a another 15 mins they guy who took our order retook it and said it was on the house— at that point we had already paid, Cause we thought it was going to be 10-15 mins not 45-1hr so they finally made it and gave it to us and offer two cookies. — all I wanted was hot food not cold ones. Anyways We left. I came home and saw that they never gave me an everything bagel with cream cheese but an egg and cheese on a roll and in the other bag there were two egg and cheeses but not the way we order it, it’s like they slapped on some cheese and cold eggs on a half broken up bread,. And wrapped up —the sandwich was so poorly made— I made a comparison with the original one and the one he just gave— no doubles layer no ketchup no salt or pepper nothing. As we were eating I noticed a hair in my sandwich at this point I was so done with this place— so disgusted by it.. I FOR ONE WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK THERE. It’s a mess, the staffs are all confused, and the service sucks. I will be sticking to Sip Ave’s wonder bagel— at least they have hair nets and gloves with better service and I’m not waiting an hr for my sandwiches. I give it a two thumbs down....

Wonder Bagel, I have to wonder how you could get my simple orders wrong on both my recent visits? Don't get me wrong, the bagels are good but the confusion behind the counter and lack of attention by the workers has me annoyed.

Both visits have been on Saturday morning when there seems to be five to seven people rushing about behind the counter. On the first visit I asked for, two, whole wheat everything bagels, one with butter, one with vegetable cream cheese and tomato. I received, two everything bagels (not whole wheat) one with vegetable cream cheese and no tomato, the other with cream cheese and tomato and not the butter I asked for. I was totally wrong

On my next visit I asked for a whole wheat everything bagel with butter, I got a whole wheat everything bagel (they got that right this time) but instead of the butter I asked for, it had cream cheese.

Saturday mornings are busy ones no doubt, but there always seems to be great confusion at the cash register. I was handed my change across the arms of another customer who was reaching for their order, not cool.

Yes, your bagels are good but get your house in order. On my next visit I'll be checking my order at the counter...

Out of all the Wonder Bagels in the Jersey City area, this one is the newest, and the worst.

PRO: Varied menu selections and drinks. Tables to sit and watch the news. Varied cream cheeses and pasta salads.

I give this place so many chances, time after time, and they just let me down.

They don't cook the food properly. It's either burnt bacon or raw bacon. It's either burnt bagels or... burnt bagels.

Time after time they get the orders wrong even for me who expects it to be wrong and am rather careful. Continuously forgetting condiments and utensils.

They only have 1 person that can operate the register and if he's not there then you'll see the replacement frustrated and becoming rude.

My assumption is that the staff was not properly trained and for alot of them it's their first time in the service industry. They are still friendly people that want to help but they simply weren't trained right to be on their own and handle stressful situations
