If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Here was my first and last experience at this location:
The location closes at 10, and I live less than 1.5 mi from where it is. I placed an order and finalized it online at 8:20pm, and it stated that it would be ready at 8:40pm. Great. I ordered the Roasted Salmon with Dill Sauce, which was described to come with rice provençal, and "fresh roasted" asparagus. I added a side of broccoli and a cup of the bean soup and was set to go. Wonderful. I left my home a short while later and and arrived at 8:38pm.
The lady at the register brought up my order and asked about the side of broccoli, saying that it came up as a replacement side for the asparagus. I told her that I wanted it in addition to the asparagus, and she okayed that and told my total. A young gentleman who was getting my other together asked me if I wanted rice with it since he asserted that I got broccoli instead, and I answered yeah, mentioning that I was under the impression that it came with the dish, and that I ordered a side of broccoli. He mentioned the extra charge on the register screen, of which I could not see myself, and said that he'd get the rice together for me, that they'd have to heat it up. I said alright, thanked him, and waited patiently after paying my $17, thinking it wouldn't be that long of a wait. Well, he came back and said that they were out of dill sauce... at this point, I'm a little annoyed, mind you, I'm a fairly patient person, but I couldn't help but consider how ridiculous this situation is becoming. I asked what other sauces they have, and he said there was a pesto sauce.. that again, he'd have to heat up. I didn't want a dry filet of salmon, so I said ok, having paid and everything, and sat down to wait even longer. A little after 9, my food comes, and I head out the door. Before getting in my car to go home, I checked my bag only to find that---yep, you guessed it, my asparagus was missing. I go back in and wait for another 10 min for them to get it, or rather, I find out later, microwave zap it along with the rest of my god-awful food--after sorting through the confusion that they were under the impression that I subbed it out for broccoli (which was 100% overcooked with ZERO seasoning). The salmon was overcooked and tough, warmed with a microwave, and the asparagus which was BROWN was wrapped in a foil pack with a little "Sat" sticker on it, referencing two days prior (today is Monday!!) Fresh vegetables my ass! On top of that, it carried a rancid odor that spoke to how old it really was.
Long story short: BAD communication, SLOW service, HORRIFICALLY AWFUL food. I don't know how this place got 4 stars, but this will absolutely be the last time I go here, or at least to this location. Should've gone to Chick-fil-A for dinner...
Read more11/12/23: DISAPPOINTED on multiple counts.. It is my son's birthday today & our household has been sick with a flu/cold for a week - altho we are finally starting to recover we are still extremely congested & coughy so conscientiously chose "To Go" online order vs eating inside (which might've gotten employees & other customers sick).
I arrived early, called & informed them that I was outside for whenever the food was ready to please bring it out - they said ok.
Time elapses & it's now a few minutes before ready time (order said it would be ready 8:12pm) so I asked my sister who is not sick to go inside to check on the order - oddly, the food was all bagged & waiting on the counter for us (me wondering how long the food sat on the counter..).
My sister brought the food to the car & I ensured everything was there & spotted the onion soup had no cheese nor croutons/toast so she went back in & she informed them - they said it's supposed to have them (we know, that's why we pointed out they were missing) & gave her a side baggie of those items.
15 minutes later we arrive home with the $90 meal including a whole Sacher Torte (my son's Birthday cake).
At least the 4 diff soups were warm & delicious. The Quiche Lorraine was luke warm at best. The Crêpe la Madeleine was cold - yuck (me wondering again how long the food sat on the counter!?). I opened the Strawberry Spinach Bacon Salade & notice no dressing anywhere - I start eating but realize there's tons of bad soggy decaying spinach - gross! Not a happy camper & hope I don't get food sick 🤬
At least the Sacher Torte (we've ordered it most years for my son's birthday) was delicious altho a bit smudged.. altho much better than the year I picked it up & it had cracks all over it due to someone not making/storing it properly.
Unfortunately it seems like the quality standards at La Madeleine is going downhill (their salads used to be top notch & hot foods served hot) - I have no doubt they would've fixed these things had I been eating onsite & raised them in person but alas I was sick at my home 15 minutes. By the time our meal ended around 9:15pm La Madeleine was already closed (they close at 9pm) - much too tired from my illness to deal with calling them & having the rectify the...
Read moreThe bestie and I stopped by Saturday morning around 8:30. It was our first time so we asked for help. A nice young man walked us through the process of ordering at the counter and paying at the other end. We placed our orders, paid and we were given a number and we were told we could sit anywhere. Since it was 47°, they had the fire going. There are leather couches among tables so you have options on where to sit. Naturally we sat in front of the fireplace. It was nice and toasty. Our Chai Tea Latte's came out and honestly, this was the best Chai Tea I've ever had. Not "spicy" not sweet. A few moments later our breakfast sandwiches joined the table. I requested a side of avocado with mine. The croissant was flaky and buttery, but I don't like my sandwiches cut. The tomatoes were a little hard, but we still ate them. We enjoyed the latte so much we ordered two more and decided to get a pastry (Palmier) with them. The nice young man who initially helped us brought out our second round of Latte's and we asked him if the pastries are normally this hard. He checked on them for us and offered to bring us something else and we told him it's ok, we will manage. Since we've never had these before we did not know what to expect. These things were "HARD". We only ate half of them because they were honestly hard. We sat there and enjoyed our drinks and Ms. Diane approached the table and insisted on bringing us different pastries so we caved. She got a blueberry muffin and I got a chocolate almond croissant. We took them to go. I took a bite when I got home and it was delicious! Definitely coming back to try other things and enjoy another latte or two...
