While, G&J doesn't cook on Mondays, I felt pressed to find igusi soup elsewhere. Googled the next nearest African food store, to find this place that sits back from the street, the small sign over the door you will hardly see. Lanry was very pleasant while explain'g why their prices were high, as the cook Elyon brings my soup. She tells me $16.99 + taxâââ So immediately, I want to see it. Opened the square container, of wherever (unrecognizable to me, looked like two balls of orange sauce of something) soup, they said it was beef and chicken(none I directly asked for). The small amount in the container was so thin and watery, after they removed the meat. I almost cried to know I had given over $10 for that ration. I then complained that I could eat anywhere and get filled for less. So now I handed back the dish and demanded more soup. Come to find out, they were selling me the last of the scrapings. That's Just Wrong!!! Finally after the WAIT, I stood around to have her get more frozen igusi soup to warn up and add to the dish. I DIDN'T EAT IT last night, too upset to digest that one, just my leftover Boston Market Sun dinner. My garbage disposal will eat it. Just maybe some kind of juju is spoke on it. Never go there again. The only thing I have to worry about now is my charge card number. G&J here I come, love...
Read more0 of 10 will never go again! I was craving some Jollof rice so I ordered from this place through Grubhub. After I completed my order, I noticed that there was no movement on the food tracker for 15mins. When I called the restaurant they stated they did not have their Grubhub tablet on but to call them back in 10mins. In 5mins I saw there was movement on the food tracker so I didn't think I needed to call back. The pick up time was originally at 7:10pm but then moved to 7:25pm. When I arrived at the store around 7:33pm there was no one in there. A woman sitting in her car came into the store and asked if she could help. I told her I was here to pick up my Grubhub order and gave her my name. She went to the back and took an additional 12 mins to bring me my food. The meat pie was undercooked, unseasoned and tasted freezer burnt then heated in the microwave. The jollof rice tasted like flavorless Mexican rice with lots of pepper. It was a waste of my time, money and taste buds. I wish I would have went down the street to the Hunan Cafe as they actually have good West African food. Save yourself the headache and money by passing...
