Double's Pizza — Restaurant in Johns Creek

I ordered the seafood pizza, because out of their very limited specialty pizzas selection, this one had no tomato sauce. Plus I thought I love shrimp and crab. Something told me I should have asked about the crab, but we had a hard enough time placing the order with the lady on the phone, so any extra questions would have been too much. I got the pizza, it was a Lil lack luster in appearance, but smelled good. I picked up my slice, saw the decent sized shrimp on it, annnnd the IMITATION crab(disgusting fake "meat"). Since I'd bought it, I thought I'm going to eat this. Nope. Wrong. I tried picking off the imitation crab, hoping to salvage the pizza. Again, nope.

I also ordered the crazy bread, which were OK, the marinara sauce included was sickly sweet, and odd tasting. Luckily I had some of my own to eat them with. They aren't the kind of sticks you just can eat plain.

Now I have a minus one slice medium pizza going to waste. Perhaps if I try something else from there, I can raise my rating. Unfortunately something as simple a fake crabmeat made me wish I'd just gone to a...

This is a family-owned business serving the Roswell Alpharetta area for many many years the owner and his family or very kind generous people who genuinely care about the product that they produce and bring to your home they want you to enjoy they're special pizzas the only way they can make it and if you haven't had it before treat yourself and have one today you will never order pizza from anywhere else again my favorite happens to be the white pizza with ricotta cheese spinach tomatoes black olives mozzarella and a brush the crust with a buttery garlic sauce before they put all those wonderful toppings on it and then it all comes together to be simply outstanding they have traditional Pizza and they will make you pizza anyway you like it they make their their own fresh dough and sauce I could go on and on I simply can't say enough and a special thanks to the owner and his wife from a devoted long-time customer thank you for bringing your special Pizza from your family to my family thank you try doubles...

I keep hoping to get a good piece of pizza from here, but they continue to disappoint. Unfortunately, this place is open late and on my way home from work so I keep getting mediocre pizza. Why is it so mediocre you ask? I will tell you. They don't understand the art of pizza. It seems their approach is to take a piece of dough and slap some toppings and a ton of cheese on top. Literally way too much cheese placed on top of the toppings. Google what happens when you put the cheese on top of the pepperoni instead of pepperoni on top of the cheese ... You get limp flavorless pepperoni. When the pepperoni is on top, the heat of the oven crisps it up and it releases the oils to make the whole pie taste wonderful. The pound of cheese on top quickly hardened so it made it easier to delaminate the pie and locate the few pieces of pepperoni that they used. If you like good pizza, this place is not for you.
