We love, love Trattoria 141 so we figured Cantina 141 would also be out of this world. Sad to say it was VERY disappointing. Food - VASTLY overpriced for what you get. Portions are fine, but the food quality and flavor is just not there whatsoever. The tortilla tasted and smelled extremely cheap, the chicken had zero seasoning, and they charge quite a lot for their extremely forgettable rice and beans side. I’m not exaggerating when I say Frontera or Moe’s BLOW this place out of the water which is extremely sad because they charge $15+ a plate here. Atmosphere - It’s an awkward blend of 30A beach home with nautical wall decor, southwestern cinderblock walls, and spa-like candles and room dividers. It feels like there’s an identity crisis here. I don’t know how other reviewers find this place good for a date.. It looks like someone went wild at Home Goods. It doesn’t help all their tacky decor clutters the front entrance off so there is no line of sight for the staff to see if someone is coming in. Restaurant 101. Service - Our service was fine, but the hostess went MIA so they had people coming in waiting for tables, staring at us since we were the only ones eating, and then angrily leaving because the entire staff and manager were hanging out by the bar cutting up. Safe to say they missed several hundred in revenue just from that. Such a shame they have an incredible sister restaurant next door, but this one definitely falls flat for me and I would...
Read moreWe LOVED Viande Rouge, it was our absolute favorite date night restaurant. I guess we had high expectations for Trattoria one41, maybe too high. The risotto fritters/balls were a great start, and we ordered our cocktails. The women's bathroom was quite filthy for only being 1 of a few tables seated as they had only been open for an hour.....hairs and urine visible on the seat, a dirty sink just didn't look like it had been cleaned for the day. So then we had a nice Cesar salad with added anchovies. I had the Mediterranean Fish, it was just ok. My husband had the carpaccio which was tasty but had quite a bit of chew to it. I enjoyed the Velvet Underground drink and would've loved another one but Herbert never asked me. As he was busy running glasses of wine to other tables. We stayed for dessert and split the tiramisu, which was slopped on the plate and quite watery. Also such a thick layer of cocoa and cinnamon, really took away from it. We would've loved a coffee with it but was never offered any. The whole experience was average at best and definitely not as upscale and special occasion worthy as these reviews would have believe. We spent$200 and just felt it wasn't up to par with the quality or taste for that price.
Viande Rouge was the best romantic restaurant and you could tell everything was made with such thought and pride in every plate that came out. Didn't get that with Trattoria. Wish you'd bring back VR it...
Read moreLast weekend, we dined at Trattoria One 41, a classy Italian restaurant with an inviting ambiance and good food. Unfortunately, our overall experience was mixed.
Firstly, despite seeing nearly every table empty inside, we were only offered outdoor seating under an umbrella shade due to not having a reservation. This felt unnecessary, especially since the indoor area was clearly underutilized. The outdoor seating was not well-equipped for comfort; there was only one fan, which was directed at another table, and no extra fan was available for us. This made for an uncomfortable dining experience, given the warm weather.
On the positive side, the ambiance was excellent, and the service was decent. However, when we inquired about vegetarian options, the choices were quite limited. We ended up ordering pasta with extra vegetables and an eggplant appetizer, which were both satisfactory but not exceptional.
Additionally, the restaurant’s name, Trattoria One 41, does not appear anywhere outside except on Google Maps. This made it difficult to locate the restaurant, adding to our frustration.
The main reason we stayed was because we were tired and hungry, but given the limited vegetarian options and the less-than-ideal seating arrangement, it wasn’t the most enjoyable meal we’ve had. With some improvements in seating flexibility, better signage, and a broader vegetarian menu, Trattoria One 41 could provide a much better...
