Went here a couple weeks ago wanted to try something new. On a Saturday at about 1-2 pm. Restaurant was maybe 15-20% full. The front door still had left over tape from one of the signs so that looked awful. Went with someone that used to work in the restaurant and bar industry for 10 years.
Sever was really nice and informative although forget her name she could kinda tell wanted to get out of there and apologized. And said was short staffed. But the owner and manager were standing around. She was 5/5.
Was put at a table near the kitchen and bar. There is a wall with a mirror by the kitchen opening and the 2 tables by it which one was being used by the severs with the jackets and purses just out in the open for every to see and use and the other by I assume the owner with a thing of chewy chocolate chip cookies on it. And thought it looked very unprofessional and how they don’t have a place for the employees to put there stuff is kinda ridiculous. Anyone could’ve came up and grabbed the purse with out anyone noticing or seeing.
Food came and they didn’t have any real silverware or clean silverware. So was given plastic, which was mind boggling and thought it was a joke Glad I didn’t get a steak. Then 2 minutes later the owner comes out sits at the table in front of everyone eating cookies wrapping silver ware. Who knows if she washed her hands. I doubt it.
There also is a fee if you split a meal. Which I get it. But I have never seen that at any restaurant. This place has so much potential and huge. Just awful ownership and management. And the front door looks like the front of a liquor store with all the posters all over.
Also, if it storms they use dish satellite so no sports were on.
Food was 4/5. Good portions. About standard price for...
Read moreAnthony's is a decent bar and grill if you are looking for a sports themed place because there are TV's everywhere so you won't miss a beat. I have been coming here for the last few months, mostly on Thursdays when they have their $6 burger special and $2 bottled domestics.
The reason I am rating 3 stars is for two reasons:
When you get a burger, for some reason you cannot take anything off. What I mean by this is that you cannot order it with "no lettuce" or "no tomatoes". They do zero substitutions, so if you're like me and just want it plain, you are basically throwing away a small side salad. My biggest concern with this is that if someone is allergic to any of these items, they are pretty much screwed.
The service. It seems to be a constant hit or miss when it comes to the kind of service you receive here; there is almost never any consistency. One day you can have a waitress that is very attentive and helpful, and the next you can have one that never checks on the table (refills for example) and gives you attitude when you ask for something and proceeds to ask the entire table if they need anything else before she walks over there because it would be such a bother for her to walk another 20 feet. I simply don't understand it.
Overall anthony's is great for a quick burger, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend big groups coming here either, the owner likes to watch them like a hawk...
Read moreFriday night and the vibe was as flat as a pancake. The staff huddled at side tables, looking like they were on a break from life itself. Where do I even begin? The atmosphere was a dismal kind of dead. I wanted to bolt, but my companions made that tricky. So, I plopped down and ordered some appetizers. Only one showed up, and for some bizarre reason, the second never made an appearance. They didn’t charge me, and honestly, I was relieved after seeing what they served. Then came the Fish and Chips—now, we all know what that should entail, right? Four sad pieces of fish on a bed of shredded lettuce? No chips or fries in sight! I asked about the missing fries, and she finally brought them out, but guess what? I got charged for those “chips” on the receipt. Seriously? Fish and Chips? And while she was at it, she managed to spill salsa all over my jacket. She noticed and casually asked if I wanted a napkin. Oh sure, let’s just leave the salsa party on my jacket! Everyone’s meals were a disaster—tiny portions and way overpriced. After today’s experience, I wouldn’t return even if they offered free food. Looking at the low ratings, I should’ve trusted the reviews and stayed away. Lesson learned. I just wanted to share the receipt because if you looked at it, you’d think we left stuffed and happy....
