All shopping malls are scarce these days. Most stores at the Joliet Mall are open. The food court only has a few places to eat anymore. There is a TGIF that you can still sit down & eat in, but the Panera turned into a take out only place. There is a craft fair several weekends during the year at the mall, which is nice. They do seem to attract the same vendors, so once you've gone twice, you've seen it all. JC Penny & Macy's seem to be the only big retailers holding on in that space. Of course, there is the movie theater, which may be the main reason the mall itself stays open. I sure hope it does stay open. There are fewer kid activities in the mall than there used to be beside the arcade place at the far end. You would have to pay for your kids to play. The mall used to be a place where you could take your kids, where they could play, or safely walk around with their friends while you shopped. Joliet is one of the nicer malls still in this area. It's a shame that there are not more restaurants for people to choose...
