I called the day before my stay to let staff know I will be arriving a little later than midnight. The lady who answered seemed annoyed someone was calling and was very rude and so quick to say she doesn’t see my reservation before even letting me finish my sentence. When I got to the Motel the younger lady was super nice and welcoming. When I got to the room, the floor was sticky as if something was spilled and not cleaned up, the bathroom seemed to be cleaned in a rush since there were stains on the sink handle and on the shower wall. There was what seems like a blood stain on the bed skirt. I had a non-smoking room, but all you can smell is cigarette smoke. After a long day at a funeral, I arrived back at the hotel at 10:40pm. The entrance was locked. I’m assuming the same lady that answered the phone yelled through the door and asked if I had a key card. I then showed it to her and she opened the door while rudely saying the doors lock at 11:00pm…. It was only 10:40. I would not recommend this Motel 6. Other that the nice lady who checked me in and gave me my key card, everything else was a negative experience. This is my second time at a Motel 6 and both have been bad experiences. Would recommend to stay away from ANY Motel 6, unless you like dirty hotel rooms and rude staff.

Before I complain, I will give a positive. The room was clean. However...The manager let people be loud from 6pm till almost 2 am yelling, and tapping on doors, and you could smell cigarette smoke on the non smoking 1st floor all night!. I saw and heard TWICE!!!!!......2 different people that apparently were acquaintances of the manager last night, and a housekeeper this morning booking rooms, talking them down on the price!! I'm serious!!!! My mouth about fell thru the floor twice!!!! ..I drove 6 hours to stay one night and paid $65, only to hear one lady ask to get a room for $35. That was when I went to get an extra blanket. This morning a young man asked the housekeeper he called "Boss Lady", for a room when she would have one available. I was going out to my car to leave. She said, "I'll have one ready by 9am." He then asked. "So I can still check out at tomorrow at 11 a.m? Can I get it for $25?....and I asked to check in with my reservation at 2:15 pm, and the manager told me no, I couldn't until 3pm!!!! That's BS!!! I wasn't even going to post pictures or complain about the filthy microwave or the cutlery holder. I just wanted to show my friend, but that whole room dealing schmeal ticked me off! So now you heard it , and you got to see it.

When you enter the building it smells like weed. Despite the no smoking policy there were many cigar holes in the blanket covers. The floor was dirty and sticky in our room. Single use cups were placed near the toilet and they were opened. Towel rack fell off. Shower bed wasnt cleaned. No morning coffee. It is tolerable but the price doesnt justify the stay no matter how cheap. Someone definitely needs to get fired here. The front desk doesnt check everyones IDs when checking in so makes sense. The company will love to place “sorry for your experience “ post and never do anything about it. I doubt they will even read this, just copy paste to any low stars they see. Unfortunately ive been to hotels like this unintentionally and unfortunately they last for 2 or more years despite being bad. Hotel 6 is good - but not this one.

Had a reservation at the Motel 6 on I 55 Joliet Illinois for Oct. 16th to Oct. 23rd 2016. Arrived after 5 p,m. on the 16th after a 9 hour drive from Kentucky. The girl who said she was manager told us the room would not be ready for an hour to an hour and a half so we paid $418.21 with our credit card and went to get something to eat and called her from restaurant after the hour and a half that she told us it would be ready, she said it would be another hour or more yet so we stopped at Super 8 and they had a room we looked at and approved but still went back to Motel 6 to see if the room was ready and she said because I requested a 1st floor room when I made my reservation that it was going to take longer because it was a special request I mean I made the reservation at least 2 to 3 days before. She said if I wanted a room on the 2nd floor I could have it right away but when I made the "Special Request" no one had any problem with it. She said I am not going to call a crew down from the 2nd floor to clean a room for you so if you dont want the one on the 2nd floor you will just have to wait another hour to an hour and a half and there is no use arguing with me. I said what are we suppose to do we have traveled for 9 hours and we are tired and she told me to go to the Joliet Mall and walk around. We are 72 and 73 years old. All this time she did not blink and I actually asked her if something was wrong with her because i could not believe we were being treated that way. I asked her if she was kidding me. My husband was not saying anything he told me later he was too mad to. Now we had gone to New Orleans for two years in a row with no reservations and the Motel 6 there managed to prep a room for us both times within ten minutes, that was on Old Gentilly Road in New Orleans. She did say during this conversation you can have your money back which after all the things I just wrote occurred my husband said get the credit card credited which we did and went to Super 8 and had a most enjoyable stay. That night I called Motel 6 corporate and complained. I have no idea if anything was said to that most rude person or not. I must say the amenities on the first floor of Super 8 was more then we expected with coffee pot and hair dryer iron and board and as we requested a fridge and microwave. By the way the girl at Motel 6 told us when we first got there that the room would only be serviced two times in the week we stayed there. Super 8 serviced our room every day. I still cannot believe it we have stayed so many times at Motel 6 in different states and never a problem. They need to screen...

My 45 minute stay at this dump was probably the worst ever!!! They are rude, the facility is dirty, and the manager is horrid!! Avoid this place at ALL costs!!!! First off, you have to pay for wifi, no huge deal, it says that on the website. However, I paid the $4.99 for the high-speed wifi which is advertised as $4.99 for 24 hours PER ROOM. Well, our room had 3 people in it-2 adults and one child. This meant that we needed to connect 3 devices to the wifi. However, when we tried to connect the wifi, it would not connect with the code we paid for. I went to the front desk where the receptionists attempted to help. They were not able to connect all 3 devices at the same time and then informed me that the "think that maybe" you can only have 1 device connected with the code at a time. I asked for where that was written as it was not on any of the signage they had posted and I was not told this when I checked in. They said that they weren't sure so they went to ask the manager. He told them that he did not know either so he told them to call the internet support number. After waiting for at LEAST 5-10 minutes on hold with internet support, the receptionists were told that the $4.99 is just for 1 device and they hung up. I politely explained to the manger that this is false advertising which is illegal as that is not posted anywhere and I was not informed of this when I checked in. He said that there was nothing that he could do and that I paid the $4.99 and that is just for one device so that is all he would give me. When I tried to explain that what is posted is that it is $4.99 per room and we paid for 3 people in our room, that means we need 3 devices connected. He again just said that he would only give me what I paid for which was one code. The manager then walked away from me into his office. At that point, I told him that he was falsely advertising the internet and that they should provide me with 2 additional codes so that all three of my devices could be connected. He again just repeated that he would only give me what I paid for and it was not his problem that one code only connects one device. I informed him that I would not be paying $10 additional dollars for two more codes and we checked out and switched hotels to another down the street. All that being said, the Motel 6 is a total DUMP!!! The people were rude and ill informed, the halls and room smelled of feces and urine, and I feared for my safety in the elevator. Never again will I stay at...

I've stayed at many a Motel 6 and I have always had an awesome experience. This hotel stay however was not what I had come to expect. My friend and I walk in and on first glance the room looks nice. We kick off our shoes and we discover that the floor was sticky and gross; the bathroom was no exception. There was no shampoo or conditioner so it was a good thing my friend brought both.

It gets worse from there. We get a call from the front desk asking if we wanted house cleaning to come in. Something I am more than accustomed to and greatly appreciated. When we got back to the hotel we saw the beds nicely made and on first glance everything looked nice; it was anything but. The floors were dirty and sticky, we did our best to clean them ourselves. Then if that wasn't enough my friend's loofa was picked apart, my tooth brush bag was taken; the bag was under my brush. And the wash cloths were not replaced.

When we checked out, a day early; not due to the experience I addressed the issues with the lady at the front desk. And oh boy that was quite the experience within itself. The lady said that she would address the housekeeper on proper policy and that she had to get a manager to credit my account for the extra day so she would also address the manger on what happened.

That's when things got crazier. The manager told me I should have addressed the problem after we noticed the issue, that I should have shown evidence of the loofa destroyed and that the bag went missing (how in the world am I supposed to do that?). She said there was nothing she could do because we didn't address it after the fact and that it's not her fault that we are leaving a day early b/c the issue. I said that we are addressing the issue after the fact and that we aren't leaving early b/c of the problem. She said that if we addressed the problem right away they could have had a maid come in right away. I told her that while I appreciate that we were working all day and were too tired to wait for house cleaning and that we didn't know that it could be addressed right away. She said that they could have at least given us free WiFi.

I realized I wasn't getting anywhere so I thanked her for her time and I told her I have been in customer service for many years and said that I recommend that going forward that it's best practice to do everything possible to make it right and to never argue with a guest.

Sadly both the manager and the lady were very haughty...
