I am sad to have to write this review as me and my husband just discovered Louies a few weeks ago and absolutely love their food and prices. However we will no longer be dining there after our experience with them after my husband accidentally left his Ray-Ban sunglasses behind. My husband realized several days later his mistake (he worked a lot of double shifts afterwards at work so he knew the last place he would have worn them was Louies) so we both called and asked to speak with a manager to see if they had his glasses and we immediately got a very defensive response for a simple question (manager wasn't available apparently) oh ok we thought, so we decided to go there in person and talk to someone personally to see if they would handle it better and we were sorely disappointed. This is where we were really shocked at how we were received. My husband and I went in and asked about our glasses and were very kind and non confrontational and even gave them the exact day, time and place we sat which was directly under a security camera conveniently enough. Being these were $250 sunglasses, my husband obviously wanted to see if there was any chance to find them. The young man and older lady who work there (I think the guy is one of the sons who owns the place) were very sure immediately they didnt have his glasses without so much as asking any of their staff. After we asked if they could check the camera footage in case it was one of their workers that took them they remained incredibly standoffish and defensive and claimed all there staff are extremely trust worthy so they weren't even going to entertain asking anyone and they claimed they couldn't review the footage because the guy who knew how to do that only came in once every few months. I couldn't help but ask him skeptically, 'so you have cameras but no way of accessing the footage?' His blunt response was 'correct.' I told him i had a hard time believing that and he said that's fine and walked off. My husband then asked the lady what would happened if an order for carry out was misplaced she said 'we would check the cameras of course' revealing that they were perfectly capable of doing so. We left shortly after the elderly woman told us there was no way they or any of their workers had them and that we were basically out of luck. My husband, left his name and number anyway in case they turned up and we went to the police station immediately after to file a report. Miraculously, the next day they called him saying they did in fact have his sunglasses and that they were put in a different volt (yeah ok). We were super unimpressed with how unprofessional this was handled especially by the younger man who basically flat out refused to help us and behaved extremely defensively which, if he was so sure one of his workers didn't pinch them, what would have been the harm in checking the footage to prove it. All in all we felt they flat out lied to us and refused to help us on account that they didn't want to be embarrassed. You would hope people especially those who own public establishments such as resturants would practice common decency but this place clearly doesn't. Make sure you remember all your valuables when dining here ladies...
Read moreThis review is only given after attempting to share with the establishment first. I enjoy physically going to restaurants for a plethora of reasons. However, under the circumstances, I cannot. I placed my order Sunday morning and asked for no bananas in my fruit bowl. They gave me bananas and p; parts of the apples were brown, the pineapples were from a can, and the cantaloupe was mostly from the rind. I asked for browned hash browns, and then they were not brown along with being undercooked. My scrambled eggs were super hard and uneatable. I am very displeased with my order! I personally had no way of going out to fix this matter. I also ordered ribeye steak as well and it orders it medium and well done. They overcooked the steak on one end as well. This saddens me very much. I wanted to share that I called the restaurant to share with the manager my concerns before reaching out to Uber Eats. However, he was rude, nonchalant, and defensive, blaming all the errors on the Uber eats driver. How could the driver be responsible for cooking the food and putting in bananas in the bowl? The manager deflected and shared that the Uber driver had forgotten my order and had to return to the restaurant. That really had nothing to do with the food. Although I am 7 minutes from the restaurant and the food was cold upon arrival. His comments were highly offensive and were not the pride of providing customer service or accoaccountability. I will not be patronizing this business as they are not role models for the restaurant industry. The manager never apologized even though I shared I was incapacitated. When interviewed, they had a very proper and caring disposition for the Joliet Patchd. But, How do you see them now? They are NOT following in their parent's footsteps at all! Their parents were caring and accommodating, to say the least. I would love to recommend the following restaurants. Silver Spoon-Very pleasant customer service, and the food was scrumptious! The Southern Cafe was and has always been a SHEER DELIGHT! Lastly, Niko's Breakfast Club...To name a selected few! That's all, folks! Shared so these restaurants we spend our money can face the music and step up and take this seriously. We are human and...
Read moreI’m usually never one to broadcast my bad experiences but Louie’s Waffle House you are TERRIBLE for the way you handled me and my family today!! My sister had hair, not one, not two, but MULTIPLE pieces of hair mixed into the cheese in her skillet. When we asked for a manager to the table he told us that he’s busy with Togo orders and can’t come to us at the moment. We sat for another 40 minutes and the manager still hadn’t come talked to us, instead on the way out the manager Michael told us to talk to him as he was on the line preparing food. My brother told him he doesn’t want to talk to him over food, he wants him to step to the side. The manager refused and became combative which of course started an argument. My brother constantly told him there’s hair in the food and it’s terrible service for you as a manager to not come rectify this situation. The manager began raising his voice which caused my brother to raise his voice, drawing attention from the whole restaurant. My mom attempted to intervene to just tell the manager that they want to speak about the hair in the food, instead the manager told us to “pay and get out”. After minutes of arguing the second manager Nick came out to attempt to calm everyone down but still refused to acknowledge the issue at hand, only tried to tell us to quiet down and that we could come talk about it another day. At no point did either manager or members of the staff (other than our waitress, she helped as much as possible) tend to the fact that we had hair in our food. My family and I have been going to Louis’ since their father owned the place on Jefferson St. and have NEVER experienced service the way we have today. The way they treated us today was UNACCEPTABLE! Whoever got cheese in their meal today fingers crossed you didn’t eat...
