McDonald's — Restaurant in Joliet

Entering this McDonald's was an experience I am very familiar with - in the sense that I've been to many McDonald's and this one is very similar in layout and overall appearance.

The interior of the ordering, seating, and restroom areas were all clean, which was also expected on not a surprise at all as most McDonald's are kept clean (they have great standards as a corporation on the whole).

I wasn't super hungry when we stopped at this particular location, so I only got an ice cream cone. I was fortunate that the ice cream machine was working when we stayed and got my cone within about a minute. It was of comparable quality to past ice cream cones that I've eaten at other McDonald's. To be clear, I enjoy ice cream cones from McDonald's and this was no exception.

I'd definitely stop by this McDonald's again on a cross I-80 trip that passes through Joliet, IL. I cannot emphasize enough that this was a McDonald's like most other McDonald's. Nothing more, nothing less. The experience went as expected for a visit to a McDonald's. Thanks for providing that expected and predictable experience, it was exactly what I needed for this particular cross state drive bathroom break and...

WORST SERVICE EVER POSSIBLY DUE TO RACISM..... I walked across the street from my hotel to the location and noticed two employees were filling a large bag for a Grubhub order.....I patiently waited for them to finish....After the 2 finished they walked away....The young man walked toward the dryer area and had his back to the front.....The young lady turned her back to the cash register and was doing something with breakfast pastries....I patiently waited at least 5 minutes and then asked the young woman for service....she did not respond....I then asked the young man and he also did not respond....Finally I asked did they have a problem with me being Latino ? The boy identified himself as the manager and tried to say he only had himself and the girl working....I pointed out I could see 4 employees and I was patient....I said I did not mind waiting if they were busy but did mind that they had not even acknowledged I was there....The young man who claimed to be the manager and the girl still made no attempt to provide service and I...

I went to mcdonald’s and ordered a happy meal it took forever then when I opened the happy meal there was a cookie and no toy (fries were also cold and we asked for new ones). When asked about the toy the manager goes “we don’t have toys, that’s why there is a cookie” in a very rude tone. I appreciate her trying to make up for it as it is probably not her fault that they do not have toys. However, there should have been a sign on the kiosk and she should have mentioned that when we received the happy meal. She then is talking loud enough that I can hear her on the other side of the restaurant talking badly about us. I then looked over at her because is she really that mad. She then continued to go on about “now they are looking at me” in that same rude tone. Not very manger like of her.
