I'm going to give them a bit of leeway since they just opened, but it took a while to get my food, close to 30 minutes. I ordered the sampler and chicken fried rice to go and here are my thoughts:
The fire: Their fried chicken was great, which is good because that's what they're supposed to do well. Their skin was super crispy even after a 15 minute drive home and the flavor was good. There were some big pieces too!
Their dumplings were also very good. Normal looking dumplings that looked like they were cooked in some sort of red sauce. By the time we got home they were a little cool but still tasted great, I can't wait to try these fresh from the kitchen.
Finally the bulgogi fries were amazing. Again, a little cold after a drive, but one of my favorite things we got. I bet these are awesome hot out of the kitchen and I'll definitely be getting these again next time.
The okay: The coleslaw was coleslaw. I was really hoping it was something special (I mean, it is a Korean place), but it was just ordinary coleslaw. It wasn't bad.
The street corn was also pretty good. Not crazy good, but didn't blow me out of the water. It was corn with some herbs and melted cheese on top.
The bad: I love me some fried rice and I often judge a location based on their take on it. I feel like a Korean fried rice could be really good and unique, but theirs was just sad. It was dry and had very little flavor. I won't be getting it again.
I'd probably give this place a 4 if they hadn't just opened and were working out the kinks, but so far I think they're doing a...
Read moreFirst thought it would be a good first time experience, got the drumsticks(girl took our order said they was big meaning long but not turkey leg big)and rice with a side of fries. 10 minutes later food was ready 🙌🏿 smelled great got all the way home and what did we see TURKEY LEG size drumsticks. Ok we good as long as they are done we ok. Something told me not to bite it said to take a fork and do a pink check, well it passed the pink check but failed the red check 😡 took it way back up there whispering to girl that it was raw, she rushed it to back and came back out and asked how did we want them to take care of it. Which was nice!!(8:30pm)we said no Turkey legs we will take wings...35 minutes later after the manager takes our order and the workers getting paid and looking at their checks after dish washer I hope he was dish washer going to restroom with gloves on and coming out with same gloves on(I literally told him as stern as I could he better to make them gloves off(he did with an attitude 😞, after the workers making their orders and then coming telling us they only have 18 wings left 🤣 can we get something else so we got 2 strips. 9:05pm finally got the food 😭 The front workers was very apologetic about the back workers overall experience tonight 1 out of 10 will we try again not at night with the...
Read moreNormally I am not one to leave a review, good or bad. But, today I was left with total distaste in my mouth after leaving this establishment. I frequently eat here along with other bonchon locations all over and seem to find this one has one fatal flaw that totally ruins it for me. Service. Today I entered the building and placed an order at 12:00. I was given no wait time and was sat waiting for my order to go. 12:25 rolls around and of course I’m getting antsy for my food, but I am patient. I see a couple come in and order the EXACT meal I ordered and nothing else. They sit for around 8 minutes and guess what. THEY HAD FOOD! But yet I had been sitting off to the side patiently waiting for over 40 minutes now. I am never told sorry or given any kind of warning that this would take this long. $40 later and almost 55 minutes for two people’s worth of food, and I get home and it’s all cold. Just great…… wait almost an hour and spend $40 for cold food. Definitely super...
