We are on a trip to Miami and hungry. Pull up BBQ and we’re excited to see this close and on the way. The waitress was kind and responsive, the food came quick. Too quick. How can it come too quick? When you order food at a restaurant especially a sit down restaurant, you expect a wait for prep and even fresh food. I had the chicken with a side salad and corn bread. We ordered corn fritters and fried pickles. My kids all had the kids ribs and Mac and cheese. My wife had the pulled pork with Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is stoufers Mac and cheese. I have 4 kids I know what it was. The chicken was not smoked as the menu stated it was grilled and then sauced and charred. Pork sandwich was dry had it not been for the sauce. The kids ribs were dry. The fried pickles are not made there they are fried there but are frozen, easily known because of the texture. The corn fritters are hush puppies with corn in them, while tasty they are very heavy and clunky. The waitress again was kind a courteous and did a great job. The food is disappointing and falls flat. Without some major changes this place will not stay open very long. Small changes in prep and care could transform this place. Btw, 4 kids meals 6 drinks, corn fritters, chicken special and a pork sandwich, $101…I would not bat an eye at this if the quality of the food was better, no one ate their food and we left with no...
Read moreMy family has been a long time fan of Park Ave BBQ since the beginning when Dean took over the KFC on Park Ave in Lake Park. We went to the restaurant on West Indiantown rd last week and had the worst service & food we have ever had. First it wasn’t really that busy but our waiter seemed like he needed to talk to everyone but us. He had our drink order but was two tables away and didn’t bring them for at least 5 minutes or so. He took another 5 to 10 minutes before he came back to take our food order. Both my wife and I ordered the half- rack baby back ribs with sides. Hers was coleslaw and mine were French fries & Mac & cheese. I’ve always enjoyed the ribs until this time, dry and not tasty. I didn’t complain, because I believe it would have fallen on deaf ears. It was kinda of funny watching people come in and wait to be seated because nobody was paying attention to the front door, I think the longest was about 5 minutes or so. The only two things that tasted good was the coleslaw & French-fries. We will not be going back to the Park Ave bbq on Indiantown rd any time soon. Sorry Dean I think this restaurant has fallen and needs to wake up and pay attention to...
Read moreWow, that was bad BBQ for our large group. My brisket I swear was soggy boiled pot roast and not smoked brisket. Pulled pork was dry and tasteless... microwaved pulled pork from Sam's Club has way better taste and texture. Collared greens were average. The bacon had an overwhelming fake smoke flavor. The chicken fingers were clearly generic food service fingers. Almost nobody ate their sides cuz they were gross. The baby back ribs were passible but did not make up for all the other bad food. All the food came out came out room temperature. Even my cocktail, the John Daly, had no flavor and bartender obviously just poorly eyeballed the proportions.
I should have taken a hint that Duffy's next door was packed and Park Avenue BBQ was nearly empty. I really hate giving a restaurant such a bad review but it seems like nobody there cares. Manager came by and I told him it wasn't very good and he just looked at me and...
