The employees act like you are a burden. We checked in online so that we could be in the room next to my sister and ensure we are in a room with the pool below it as my children like to jump. When we got in they had moved my room. I asked why and was told he did not know as they did it during the day. I asked if I could be moved to a room closer to my sister so the kids weren't running down the halls. He said no. They have the clean stickers on the doors showing they are sanitized. The sticker for the room we originally checked into was never broken. No one stayed in the room. They never gave me an explanation for moving. They did, however, yell at us when our children ran down the hall. They only ran down the hall once before we caught them. I know this isn't appropriate behavior, however this would have been avoided had they accommodated us in our room selection.
My room was not cleaned well. Considering covid that surprised me. There were clothing items in the room a well as long, blond hair in multiple places in the room.
We went swimming and there was one other family in the pool. We had been in the pool for 5 minutes when an employee told us that due to covid we had to get out in 20 minutes. We left the pool and there wasn't anyone else in the pool. I went down 20 minutes later and the pool was still empty. Apparently they just kicked us out for no reason.
Breakfast is a joke. They have one employee that has to heat up the breakfast sandwiches, toast bagels, poor coffee, serve juice, yogurt ect. She was very sweet, but very overwhelmed as the hotel was full and hot breakfast is only available for one hour.
I asked to get my room cleaned as we have to eat breakfast in our rooms due to covid and I have small children eating it in my room. When I asked she acted like I was being unreasonable. The next day when they were cleaning rooms I noticed they had cleaned my floor and not attempted to clean my room. I went to the front desk and she told me it wasn't noted to clean it. She did have it cleaned for me.
The door for the bathroom and closets is a shared barn door. I love a barn door, but I like privacy in the bathroom. There is non. The closet is tiny. You can't fit a small suitcase in it.
I am a diamond member and stay at a lot of Hiltons. This is the worst Hampton Inn I have stayed at. I understand there are rules and restrictions to covid, but it seems they make a point to ensure you have...
Read morePros: This Hampton Inn is in a great central location within driving distance of several major national parks in a friendly, quaint little town with a lot of neat history. It seems to have been updated at some point in the recent past and the beds and showers were pretty nice. The mini-fridge in our room was off when we arrived so we had to turn it on, but that's no big deal.
Cons: They are extremely anti-mask and will look at you like your head is on fire if you choose to wear one. I realize this is rural Utah where most residents believe that protecting others by wearing a mask is an affront to their "freedom" but I would think that the ownership of this hotel would be more concerned about the safety of their guests than their own political beliefs. I didn't feel safe staying there with unmasked cleaning staff giving my wife and I dirty looks because we chose to care about those around us. Are they totally unaware of the Omicron variant tearing through rural counties of Utah right now??
We felt this place wasn't up to normal Hampton Inn standards and we have been to many, ie: low quality and old crunchy towels, lousy pillows, and quite possibly the noisiest heating/AC utility system I've ever heard in a building. I thought a helicopter was taking off from the roof at 6:30 am, but it just kept going on and on. Super noisy and not entirely from the guests, it seems the walls are made out of paper so you hear everything. Bring ear plugs!
There are several other hotels in town, I would probably scope them out first before considering a stay at this...
Read moreI am extremely unhappy with my interactions with the evening employees, especially the young manager. He was very rude and condescending, definitely shouldn’t be working in hospitality. Unfortunately due to covid, we had to cancel one room last minute and show up a day late. We called the hotel and asked if they were able to hold our room even if we came a day late. They said that wasn’t a problem and they’d leave a note on our reservation. When we finally made it to the hotel, they “couldn’t find our reservation.” They kept insisting we called the wrong location and when we finally showed them the number we had called, they said it must’ve been a “miscommunication” and it wasn’t their problem. They told us it was our fault and even though we booked a month in advance for cheaper rates, they had to charge us the last minute rate because THEY cancelled our reservation. Apparently they cancelled BOTH rooms because they were under the same last name even though we specifically called and asked them to hold the room for us and that we’d be a day late and we’re fine with paying for the day even though we weren’t going to make it that day. On top of all of that, our bed had dog hairs all over it. There were stains on our carpet and the chair in our room. Also, the night stand had clearly not been wiped down as there were drips and stains where a cup had been. I would recommend staying somewhere...
